I worked for FAHBPP for a short while. I left because I could not stomach what this company was doing. The home owner pays a premium with promise of service and gets ripped off at every turn. The company hires the cheapest (read: least compa tent) contractors to do the work and uses the cheapest (read: junk) to replace any appliance that breaks down. That is if they can't get away with saying its not covered because the homeowner did not service or maintain it properly. The contractors get paid the same if they don't fix it as if they do so most really don't care. I have spoken with clients waiting for repairs for weeks and a few that were still waiting after 2 months. If your hot water heater breaks down, you will pay an additional $350 to 500. And it will be replaced with an inferior brand. You will not be reimbursed for any water damage done to your home. In case you are unaware, you can get a brand name hot water heater installed for under $500. Take my word, put whatever money you would buy a plan with and put it in a savings account. Call your own contractor, you will get faster results. Yes, a plan could save you if your AC goes out but I can guarantee you don't want the junk they will install--if they don't find the unit was too dirty, poorly maintained, or too old when you bought the house. They get away with financial murder. Too many people I talked with were having to replace units installed by FAHBPP less than 1 year later.
