First Extended Service Corporation Ripoff Complicated, Prohibitive, and essentially useless High-Tech extended warranty Dallas Texas

Essentially on three seperate occasions I have had repairs done on my wife's 2000 Pontiac Grand AM (which I'll never buy another one) that cost individually over $200.00. This company would not cover the repairs. These are parts that are costly and shouldn't wear out like the ignition lock tumbler (something to that affect), which costs about 600.00 according to the dealership where I bought the car and this bogus warranty.

A warranty is purchased with the intent and purpose of avoiding the high cost of auto repairs. That is the theme under which they are sold in any event. This warranty doesn't cover costly repairs as I am finding out and furthermore the extended warranty is very restrictive in that it only allows you to get the auto repaired at the high-priced dealership repair facility where you bought the vehicle. The most recent event is where I couldn't get a straight answer from the customer service rep as to whether a power control module (which for all intents in purposes is the electronic transmission module but is not specified as such by the dealership).

I took half a day off from work and spent about 2-3 hours trying to get this mess straightened out only to find out that the work has to be done at the dealership (20 miles away) vice the locally reputable auto repair shop a mile from my residence. I will still end up having to pay out of my pocket another 600 or so bucks. My recommendation to anyone is to not purchase an extended warranty from the dealership where you are purchasing your auto. This is just a way for the dealership to make extra money off you. At all costs as you can see from the numerous complaints on this website avoid First Extended Service Corporation's warranties.
