I had remembered hearing something on the radio some time back about "credit fixing credit cards," but they had the opposite effect. Giving an initial credit limit of $250 and then with the annual fees of $50, acceptance fees of $119, as well as a participation fee of $72 it left you with a $9 credit limit left. After one month you incurred a $29 late fee, and no matter how much you paid on the card, it would never go under the $250 credit limit.
Remembering this story I took a minute to read the fine print. Found a magnifying glass and started to read. As i had figured it was the card I had previously been warned about. However my boyfriend did't head my warning. He now is stuck with this credit card he can't cancel, has over $350 on charges on it and he has never even used it.
Please, there are a ton of listing warning you about these types of credit cards. Please take the time, just a moment to discover if these companies that solicit you with "prescreened," "pre-approved" credit offers are any sort of legitimate. The company I am reporting is so quick to report late payments or limt overages, it further damages your credit, causes headaches and are just plain not worth it.
Before you fill out your next application for credit make sure it is a credit card that actually extends credit, that it is not a scam. PLEASE READ THE FINE PRINT & LOOK FOR: First National Credit Card division of First National Bank (Pierre, SD)---LEGACY VISA CREDIT CARD

First National Credit Card

POSTED: Monday, April 02, 2012This brings me to my point. If you read all the literature before you signed, you would have known what you were in for. The Legacy Card is the only 1 out of the 5 I still have, and that is because it is the only 1 that was honest from day 1 and didn't screw me over. I have had this card for 4 years, pay a little over the monthly payment each month, have gotten periodic credit increases, and never had any problems. I also was in the hospital on 2 seperate occasions for a month at a time and they waived the late charges incurred because of my past payment history.
What I suspect is you didn't read everything before you signed up, or you screwed up again. Are there other favorable reports out there?
