Do NOT apply for a VISA or Mastercard credit card from First National of Omaha!

I just made the mistake of applying for a credit card from these dumb crooks because the offer they sent me had Pre-Approved written all over it!

So they PULLED MY CREDIT REPORT and then DENIED credit outright FOR NO REASON!!

Now that they have pulled my report, I WILL HAVE TROUBLE GETTING A CREDIT CARD FROM A REPUTABLE COMPANY BECAUSE MY CREDIT REPORT WAS ALREADY ACCESSED BY THESE STUPID MORONS AND I WAS DENIED CREDIT WHICH WILL ALL APPEAR ON MY CREDIT REPORTS NOW when other credit card companies look me up!!

There is nothing wrong with my credit, and they said I was PREAPPROVED (see picture). [continued below]....
..... I have paid all of my existing credit cards 100% on-time 20 years running. Never missed a single payment. My mortgage payments are also perfect. Never missed a payment.

I will use ALL PUBLICITY CHANNELS AVAILABLE to show everyone my credit history and First National moronic denial of credit:

PULLING PEOPLE'S CREDIT REPORT AND THEN DENYING THEM CREDIT AFFECTS THE VICTIM'S ABILITY GET CREDIT FROM OTHER COMPETENT AND LEGITIMATE SOURCES AND I ASSURE YOU WILL BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS FIRST NATIONAL OF OMAHA!

I am certain others have been through this same ordeal and I strongly suggest filing a complaint with the CONSUMER FINANCIAL PROTECTION BUREAU: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/
at least letting them know what is going on even if they are too incompetent to stand up to these BANKSTER DATA THIEF CROOKS that are holding our financial system hostage with their stupid agendas.

This report will remain here until I have been compensated for inconveniences and losses related to your damaging my credit report with false advertisement and bogus "Pre-approval" claims as well as time wasted in filing for this report and preparatory work.

WARNING: First National Bank of Omaha is running a PREDATORY CREDIT CARD SCAM

AUTHOR: Fred A - ()

DO NOT apply for credit from First National bank!!

Their credit cards are marketed as a PREDATORY LENDING scheme specifically for people who are deemed to have poor credit or might not be able to pay off their debts.

I found several reports so far which all indicate a pattern of refusing credit to people with good credit while using LOAN SHARKING tactics on the people with marginal credit who have been approved.

They also appear to specialize in "secured credit"; That's when they force the applicant to pay a large sum of money so that they can borrow their own money whenever they use their credit card - and oh yeah they have to pay the same interest rates and fees for borrowing their own money!

Others have repeatedly complained that First National Bank Visa and Mastercard immediately jacks up the interest rates for their credit cards to 30% or more without notice, knowing full well that the victim of their loan sharking scam will not be able to pay off the entire balance and will have to get into a never-ending cycle of debt at 30%. (or higher!)

Now I realize why the respondent here immediately posted on the reports in question saying that "all credit cards do that". Um, no I have 2 credit cards and have never been exposed to these disgusting loan sharking tactics.

where is the scan of the reverse?

AUTHOR: Robert - ()

Why don't you post a scan of the REVERSE SIDE of this letter you received?  You conveniently left out the reverse which probably has the 1 and 2 footnotes referenced on the front as well as OTHER pertinent information.

Let me guess, you didn't bother to read the reverse side, did you?

More information...

AUTHOR: Dave - ()

First, I don't work for this bank.  My original comment was to help explain why credit may have been denied.   From your comments it's apparent that you do not understand the factors that are used in determining a applicants ability to obtain a line of credit.

Just because you feel you have great, perfect credit doesn't mean you are qualified for more credit.  Is it possible a credit decision mistake was made?  It's possible as many large lenders use automated systems to make the credit decisions based on specific credit criteria.

Additionally,  one credit inquiry from this lender is not going to limit your ability to seek another credit card/loan from another lender given your excellent credit.

Attacking anyone who has provided information as to  why you may have been declined credit is just wrong.  Personally it means nothing to me if you were approved or declined for a line of credit.  Since you were declined you'll get a letter from them in the next 30-45 days explaining the reasons why.

Keep in mind the primary goal of a lender is to approve loans while limiting risk. This is how a lender makes money, by approving loans not declining them.

If you really want to learn something about credit, credit reports, and lending, try considering the answers given or maybe asking some questions instead of attacking people who are trying to provide good information.

Sorry you still don't make any sense

AUTHOR: Fred A - ()

When I said my credit hasn't changed I was pointing out the fact that there was no derogatory entry in my credit report both before the Pre-Approval, and after I sent in the application...No change understand? Good dog.

I am still waiting for you to enlighten us on why I was denied credit as obviously you claimed you know the answer.

You just answered your own question.

AUTHOR: Niko234 - ()

"My credit report and score have stayed the same for the last 10  years". That is probably a main reason why you were denied credit. No one cares how much money you make. Once again, you did not meet their minimum requirements for credit extension. If your credit report shows no change (I am sure it does you are just trying to hype yourself up) that is a big reason to deny credit. Either way they denied you, move on and quitchurbitchin.

Oh by the way.

Do I work for the bank in question or do I not? Hmm, ill let your mind marinate with that thought for awhile.

Cheers Fella.

I am glad I hit a nerve

AUTHOR: Fred A - ()

Obviously we have multiple employees that are extremely concerned by the report I filed. (I suppose it could be the same moron that just came with a different name.

Yes I read your "legal stuff on the back" and there is nothing that says anything to the effect of "Oh by the way we were bullshitting about the pre-approval".  Someone did say that a person can be refused credit if there is a change in their credit report or score between the date the mail was sent and the date the credit application was received. BZZZZZ. My credit report and score has been exactly the same for the last, oh 10 years. No missed payments on ANYTHING. And I have no excessive debt. I make a 6 figure salary. Conclusion: You are a moron that's full of s**t.

Oh by the way, you just said "Clearly you did not meet their minimums for credit extension". Based on your moronic statement, now obviously you've seen my credit report!  Could you please specify why I was refused credit?  I'll wait here for you to come back with another account and make a complete FOOL of yourself again.

Wrong Nitwit

AUTHOR: Niko234 - ()

First, the first comment is absolutely correct. Mailers like this go out to hundreds of thousands of folks each month in the hope to generate new business. While it does say pre-approved they do not have to extend you credit. You post this pre-approval offer however, the legal stuff is on the back. Clearly you did not meet their minimums for credit extension. Getting all pissy about it makes you look like a bigger moron than your already acting like. If you have not been sent a refusal of credit letter stating the reason for credit denial, I would request it.

Oh, and no I do not work for the bank or any type of financial company.

First National Bank is a joke

AUTHOR: Fred A - ()

To the moron (who is obviously an employee of First National Bank) who responded; you think you're a real slick don't you.

EVERYONE knows that if a credit card company pulls your credit report and you don't end up with an account with that company it is obvious to any future lender that you were refused credit for some reason because it all GETS RECORDED and future lenders will obviously get spooked using that as a basis for refusing credit or if you're lucky, give you credit but with higher interest rates and lower credit limits. Even a moron like yourself should know that as you work for First National Bank!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with my credit and "debt ratio", a**hole. I AM THE PERFECT CANDIDATE for credit and I have NEVER MISSED A PAYMENT EVER...at least I HAD a great credit score until you MORONS f*cked up my credit report and lowered my credit score by checking my credit.

I only wish I had come to this site to see all the complaints about First National before applying for a BAIT AND SWITCH credit card from First National.

Pre-Approval and Approval not the same

AUTHOR: Dave - ()

A pre-approval does not mean you are approved for a loan/line of credit.  A company will generally do a soft inquiry to solicit applicants.  Once you send in the information they will pull your credit.  They are not obligated to extend you a line of credit.  Your credit report will not show you were denied credit it will only show an inquiry done by the company.

A person can have perfect payment history on accounts and still be denied a loan for other reasons such as Debt ratio or excessive unsecured debt.  Not that this is your situation, but it is possible to have all trades paid perfectly and have judgments, or collections that are non-trade related which would be a reason to deny credit.
