I received a PRE-Approved credit card from > First Premier Bank WRONG.

This sounds Great until you read their "Fine Print"

They offer a $250.00 credit limit - pretty low even with questionable credit.

Then they charge an Account set up fee $29.00 +
Program fee $95.00 +
Annual Fee $48.00 +
Over limit & late fees $29.00 +
Monthly service fee $84.00 Annually +
an additional card Fee $20.00.

All the fees equal = $330.00 out of a $250.00 credit line. Your First payment would be over the limit Due to FEES - This starts You off at a Negative -$80.00 Dollars !

Should you want them to send it express that's $25.00. Other fees $11.00 month to pay by autodraft. You would be over the limit Due to FEES

I called and spoke with a raqisha and verfied she was in Hampton VA. at a call center & didnt even know where First Premier Bank was located. But gave me there customer service # 1 800 987-5521 .

I called and got an automated system which asked for my SS # in order to be helped.
I was unable to get a live person. I then located a # for disputes 605-335-7321 & spoke with a rep. I asked her if i was calling Sioux Falls, she said yes but this was a call center. I then asked for the # for the actual Bank. She gave 605-357-3440..

I called and spoke with a laura, who asked for my SS# i refused & asked for their pysical address, she gave 3820 N louise, Sioux Falls Sd 57107. I verfied they are only in sioux falls and she did not know how many branches they had.

PLEASE don't we Fooled by these people, who should be imprisoned for price gauging. Where is the, Federal Banking Regulators for Bank Fees? Guess asleep at the wheel again.

In other words, it's far more likely that you'll get a parking ticket for breaking parking rules outside a bank than it is the bank will be fined for disobeying federal lending laws.

Be the Pain in the Backside to First Premier Bank

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

About a year ago I had a credit card that was fraudlently issued by First Premier Bank. This could all have been avoided if First Premier Bank had done normal checking and cross checks. This was not done and even was said they did not do it by two of the three major credit reporting agencies. They said this is standard practive for First Premier. First Premier was so anxious to approve a fraudulently issued card I swear they would have given a credit card to my golden lab dog. This bank is at all costs wants to get their latches into anyone and then charge them through the nose in fees.

I am frankly shocked why anyone would ever want to do business with them. Folks should have boycotted them years ago and put them out of business. They are like a stinking fungus that grows and only gets worse.

I have complained to so many agencies and political figures. What I have come to realize is complaining does help because it ties up First Premier Bank in responding and they do get rather tired of doing that. So complain complain complain. Get them responding with countinuously and make them expell a high degree of labor cost so. Drive their labor costs up.

I found it does little good to deal with any of the South Dakota banking or regulartory agencies controlled or reporting to the Gov of South Dakota or the Legislature. South Dakota is very Republican and First Premier Bank is a major contributor to Gov of South Dakota election and major legislative chairman of committees that control banking in South Dakota. so they elected officals could care less what First Premier does as long as First Premier lines their election campaigns.

In a way you have to see the true picture in South Dakota. This state does not have much elso going for it other than wheat growing and banking. Have you ever noticed why so many banks are located in South Dakota or you send your payments to South Dakota. Its becauses South Dakota and Delaware have the most lax state laws in the nation that allow these banks to charge huge interest fees and get away with it. You see the connection now of First Premier Bank's huge donatioins to Gov of South Dakota campaign and major legislative leaders. Yea, it all makes sense doesn't it??? These elected officials are more than ha ppy to let First Premier Bank get away with this stuff as long as First Premier Bank continues to make campaign donations to the right people.

Complain to the federal authorities for they First Premier seems not to have so much in control as they do the South Dakota elected officials.

Lastly, hope that First Premier Bank gets into problems like Citi, Bank of America, Chase, etc. and come to the Feds for a loan then call congressman like heck and invite any and all to do the same and let First Premier go default.

First Premier...

AUTHOR: Edgeman - (U.S.A.)

I wouldn't want one of these cards, but the list of fees is somewhat misleading. The annual fee is paid on a monthly basis, not annually. You are not charged a late/over limit fee unless you are actually late or over your limit. You are also not required to get an extra card for $20.

As the user above noted, customers get around $70 of available credit when they get the card. First Premier markets to people with subprime credit, so they stack the fees on the front end to minimize their potential losses.

A $250 limit at an APR of less than 10% isn't a horrible deal for people trying to rebuild their credit. They can certainly do much worse.

Under no circumstances do the total fees come to $330 (your estimate) or $305 (what the numbers listed in the OP actually add up to).
