I recently called this local company to my home to service my gas fireplace. A friendly guy named John showed up and after checking the fireplace told me I needed some parts or I could replace it. Well I chose to get the parts . After waitng several weeks for the parts to arrive,John came back and installed them. A couple days later I was having the same problem again. I called the store and the lady on the phone could not answer any of my technical questions and said John would have to come by again. After several more phone calls to Flames,John who I found out is the owner finally returned my calls. He told me that he would come by again and check what's wrong . So he comes by again and told me the parts he replaced have broken. So he would have to come back again with the parts and replace the broken ones .

So two weeks pass and after several more phone calls to Flames,John finally returned my calls and came to the house again. He installed 2 broken parts In my gas fireplace again. The same parts that were originally replaced. Everything seemed fine until a few days after the same problem started up again. I called flames again and as usual John the owner was not available or he was probably avoilding me. all I wanted was my fireplace fixed properly so after several more calls ,John finally retuned my calls and told me that he could not keep coming to my house for free and that he would have to charge me . I told him how could he say that if the parts he replaced broke down twice. I asked for a refund but he rufused and said its not his problem that the parts broke. I thought he was very ride and obnoxious . I informed him I would be contacting my credit card company and disputing the charge.

So I ended up calling a competitor and from the initial visit he told me exactly what this fellow John had done wrong and recommended a totally different set up than what I had so this problem would not happen again. why could flames not suggets this from the beginning and save me this whole bad experience . from the lack of knowledge with the people that work there to the hard to reach owner who never returns a call . I'd stay away from this company . This man John Obvisouly seems like he does not know what he's doing or his staff who is not knowledgable about technical questionS

FLAMES FINAL RESPONSE TO HOAXER/CYBER BULLY

AUTHOR: John - ()

POSTED: Friday, March 28, 2014

Sir or madam.

Now I see how this works and I should fear retaliation because it’s clearly happening. First credit card, now check…for someone who’s so quick to point out our technical deficiencies, you can’t keep track of your own lies.

And you’re talking about practicing honesty and lacking attention to technicalities? I’d like to know what you do for a living?

You know the drawing board, go back to it. Hopefully you smell my sarcasm…it’s a response to the stench of your ignorance.

You’re a passive aggressive, pathological liar who spins webs of lies and is so disconnected from feeling any of the emotional impact from lying, that it’s not even important for you to keep track of your lies. Unfortunately, You’ll never see the error of your actions.

This is my last response to this offensive, rude, and obvious hoax. It’s truly a criminal waste of time.

Given the ease of slander, any other accusations hurled at us via this website will be treated as nonsense.

To the Hoaxster, GFYM. To the rest of humanity who stumbled upon this...

We have a brick and mortar store located at 26 Columbus Ave., in Tuckahoe, NY. 10707. If you want to talk fireplace or related stuff, come in and visit. We have a website, store hours, public parking, phone number, etc…if your interested please look us up.

There’s a heavy price we pay to be publicly available 6 days a week.  Sometime’s it requires more than just a picture or some canned version of the features.

If you're not totally satisfied with Flames, simply come in and tell us. We employ skilled professional’s whom work daily with fireplace’s and related items…real, live people eager to assist you.

Thank you to our past, present and future customers for your business and allowing us the opportunity to work with you. We continue to grow and are proud of the products and people with whom we work.

If you're not satisfied with an aspect of your fireplace project, are interested in upgrading your current fireplace, or just seeking information please feel free to contact us anytime.

I realize the value in maintaining a professional image both on and off-line but we cannot waste one more second responding to disingenuous claims.  Hopefully, most can see the gross and almost criminal use of discretion employed by this hoaxer on this site as a way to harm and slander without consequence.

Based on this alone we cannot trust this forum to offer a level playing field where consumers and businesses can effectively work out their grievances.  In fact, The time I've spent on this response has keep me from dealing with real people and real projects that require attention.

One final thanks to the originator of this hoax for exposing how easy slander holds the same weight as fact on this site.

Sincerely,

All of us at Flames

This is not a attack on you

AUTHOR: Unhappy Frank - ()

POSTED: Thursday, March 27, 2014

Sir this is not a personal false or malicious attack on you. This is very much true and I'm a local resident who did business with your company. I will not post my real name or address for fear of retaliation from yourself. I just wanted people to know that to beware of your business practices. You did come to my home and your company did try to repair my fireplace three times with no success. I also paid you by check and not credit card so there was no dispute to be had. By the time your company cashed my check no problems had accurred. Just feel you need to be more upfront with your customers and the people that work for you also need to be more aware of customers needs by being able to answer technical questions . Have a nice day and practice honesty more next time

#1 REBUTTAL Owner of company

Flames Fireplace Inc., response to false report.

AUTHOR: John - ()

POSTED: Thursday, March 27, 2014

Dear Frank,

Do you have the right company? I want to ensure this is a true-evidence based issue and not a slanderous, personal…or mis-directed attack. Please Frank, who are you?

While I respect the rights of a disgruntled consumer to criticize how we do business and voice your disapproval over the way a transaction may have gone down between yourself and Flames Inc. and while I appreciate the “friendly” description of myself, I have trouble finding the sincerity in that description and finding any accuracies in your report at all.

Based on this report the only fact you seem to have correct is that I, John, am the owner of the company. But that’s very easy to find out.

I am the only John, that works at Flames Inc. This is a first for me being that John is such a common name. Ironically the fireplace company I once worked for used the name John, amongst themselves as a replacement for a common tag like “hey, pal”. They found it funny…

Fact is, I rarely go on gas service calls Frank, or any calls for that matter.

I have a good record with my credit card processor and have had no pending or current disputes.

Frank, there is no customer with the name “Frank” either first or last name in my database with any open or unresolved issues.

If this is truly a personal attack on me, my company or fellow employees, then shame on you coward-in the shadows writing real reports under false names and filling it with vague and unverifiable accusations.  Silly fool trolling for drama; go find love in your life and stop harassing and otherwise attempting to destroy good people because you have a weak morale constitution.

If indeed this is a true issue, then forget love and go dispute this issue with the people that may have actually wronged you and based on the evidence, really the lack thereof, it’s not us.

If you still feel verified and justified in pursing this issue with Flames Inc., and want us to assume responsibility for anything you wrote in this report, please do contact us immediately so we could resolve your issues. We’ll talk to you wether it’s business or personal. We have nothing to hide and want to help you find resolve if we truly can.

My response is based on the magnitude and potential impact of the statements in your report. By reading the weak, vague story you presented, the misspellings and gross manner in which it was delivered-I feel you acted maliciously, quickly and not with the intent to expose and resolve a real problem but only to lie and fabricate a false story in order to make us look bad and further whatever cause you have against us.

I respect this website hopefully evidenced by what I deem to be a quick response to a posting about us. I’m not patronizing ripoff report, nor do I agree with every part of it.

Frank, or whatever your name really is… I always prefer a win/win scenario but only when dealing with real issues and real customers. We always strive for complete customer satisfaction at Flames Inc., but we realize we’re human and we can’t make everyone happy.

Honestly, I conclude that you're a fake and you knowingly filed a false report further evidenced by the weak SEO pattern in your report, blatantly over using keywords to optimize search-ability.  I see the drama in it, but I don't see the substance. I feel if rip-off report is a true resource for consumers they shouldn't allow your unsubstantiated lies to have a permanent home on their servers. It opens questions about the validity of the site altogether.

American law holds you’re innocent and must be proven guilty. Here it seems the opposite and more like vandalism with no consequences. Some kook spray-painted and vandalized Flames’ reputation wall and it cannot be removed?

If you used ripoff report as a vehicle to post fake, potentially damming reports about real companies that can’t be removed-Frankly, Frank, you should be the one reported and warned about then indexed in a imaginary searchable site like characterlesshumantrolls.com under the sub menu — avoid these awful people.
