Looking for info on this company. Found a lot of evidence on the web a year ago, but it has disappeared. Principal's name is Neil Barnes - he is British. Barnes and Platinum Investment have history in Panama and Spain. They have sold high-priced resort-style residences and golf club memberships ahead of construction and then defaulted on the construction. A friend has invested money with them and I have a bad feeling. If you know anything about this, please let me know.
On Google, it referenced RipoffReports.com when I checked Flamingo Lakes, but the RipoffReports doesn't attach to any info.
Flamingo Lakes is based in Merida Yucatan Mexico and has property on the Gulf coast.

More Info Needed

AUTHOR: England - (United Kingdom)

I am aware people have lost money via purchasing plots.
Currently in the UK there is a group which is preparing to take legal action
against Dave Cross and Neil Baines.

If you know anyone that has been affected please
get them to respond to this thread.

Fraud by Neil Baines is true

AUTHOR: Neil Baines victim - (Mexico)

Unfortunately this fraud version on Neil Baines about Flamingo Lakes Resort in Yucatan Mexico is true, he has now left the country and made all kind of frauds leaving many innocent people with their dreams and their investments lost.

He has made this fraud already in Panama, Spain and Bahamas; it is impossible that this actor keeps doing this dirty things all over the world, with his lowsy partner David Cross.

Please, let this nasty peolpe burn in hell, and do ever do any kind of business with them.

"Lord" Baines

AUTHOR: Anglomer - (Mexico)

Thank you for explaining that Baines simply purchased his title
rather than having it conferred or awarded.

Does he have any academic or professional qualifications and if so were they acquired in the same way?

Re: Fiesta Americana offices and further note on Lord title

AUTHOR: Flamingo Lakes - (United Kingdom)

Further to the previous rebuttal: As the lordship was conveyed through the Land Registry in 1988, Neil Baines will always be the 23rd Lord of Blomville, and the purchaser of the title after him will likewise always be the 24th.

With regards to Flamingo Lakes' Fiesta Americana offices: These were opened on a 6 month trial basis for our Sales and Marketing department, which in the global economic climate became an inefficient use of resources. Consequently we have moved our Sales and Marketing staff to our even posher offices in the city centre. Please feel free to visit us at this address with any more queries you may have: Platinum Yucatn Resorts S.A. de C.V, Head Office, Calle 59 N 581 x 74 y 76, Col. Centro, Mrida, CP 97000

Re: Lord Baines

AUTHOR: Flamingo Lakes - (United Kingdom)

Neil Baines was in fact a Lord, the 23rd Lord of Blomville, between 1988 and 1993. He purchased this title at a public auction in London in early 1988 and sold it on in the spring of 1993.
All this can be verified with the Manorial Society of Great Britain and is standard practice for the purchase and exchange of Lordships.

Lord Baines

AUTHOR: Peter - (Mexico)

I would like to inquire if this is the same Mr Baines who according to a recent interview with the local newspaper THE DIARIO DE YUCATAN claimed to be LORD BAINES and is this the same person who until recently had VERY POSH offices in the 5 star Fiesta American but, sadly have now closed....

Flamingo Lakes Resort

AUTHOR: Office - (Mexico)

I am responding to the wrongful allegations posted on this site as the author obviously knows nothing of the international business affairs of Platinum Yucatan Resorts SA de CV or Flamingo Lakes Resort.

The president of the company is Mr.Neil Baines, (not Barnes).

There are many companies around the world with the name Platinum in the title that are not in any way connected to Platinum Yucatan Resorts SA de CV.

Mr Baines has various companies but none of them have ever been involved with the selling of high priced resort style residences and golf memberships ahead of construction and then defaulting on the construction in Spain or Panama as erroneously stated.

All concerned by the allegations in this post are invited to take up full references from all who deal with us, and would recommend contacting our CEO., Mr David Cross in the first instance. Our international Lawyers are prepared to converse on any subject concerning this company and project. They have explicit instructions in this matter.

Due diligence on this company has been carried out by two London firms TWICE. Both firms are regulated by the Financial Securities Authority.

The company has nothing to prove and nothing to hide.

It is strongly suggested that the author contacts our legal department to have these libelous allegations removed from this site with immediate effect before the company commences legal action for defamation of character and subsequent damages.

Flamingo Lakes Resort and Platinum Yucatan Resorts SA de CV has an open book policy and operates with full transparency.

For any further enquiries please contact our head office in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico on 0052 999 924 4431
