Charles PattersonSr. whom owns flatcreek transportation is a pure out scam artist . He has drivers recommend his company in hopes of recieving 500.00 referal bonus you never recieve, and takes out what you sign on application as escrow for any damageup to 2500.00 but takes out of your check well over the 2500.00 and due to being company driver he has insurance to pay but takes out of drivers pay.
He has drivers write up repairs trucks need and yet the shop wont fix and you have to drive a truck that is unsafe on road and you have to go out of route to avoid scales due to he says if you get pulled in and shut down you will pay fine. He only pays what he feels like paying not 14% on actual load payout.
The perdiam he takes out of your check you will never see or will he show on w-2 where he took it out of your check. He lies all the time to his drivers and thinks we are stupid we believe it . I do not recommend going to flat creek to make money only to get expierence and then go to a real company
with benefits and vacation and legal logs safe trucks.

I used to drive for Charles, too. Actually, it's purely coincidental I came across this post. I just happened to be surfing around on the internet. But, this guys spot on.
Charles IS a huckster, a sheister, real shady character. Charles Jr., his son, is a complete ass, as well. But, fortunately, Jr. Doesn't work there anymore. (small improvement). I think he's spending Daddys money pursuing some other line of work where he can play the "big man".
Charles holds "escrow" out of your check...$25-$50 a week. In case of an accident or something. It's a gaff. You'll never get that money back. Just count on it gone.
Charles brother in law is the shop manager. It's a joke. Don't count on your equipment being safe or even DOT compliant. Just hope you don't get pulled in at a scale house. But, chances are you probably will since his Csa score SUX.
The 14%, yeah, that's a lie as well. Look at your pay stubs each week. All the loads always pay the same. Doesn't matter if your hauling lettuce, potatoes, strawberries, or other high dollar items...your percentage is a farce..but most drivers are too stupid to catch it. Oh, and if your truck needs work while your out before you get back to the shop, expect your paycheck to definitely be less. You don't actually think Charles pays for that himself do you? Don't be a tool.
But, the good news is, Charles will hire just about anybody with a CDL. So, if u really need a job, see Charles. But, know going into it, you're gonna get screwed along the way. Drive for him long enough to get the experience or time that you need and then get out and get on with aa better company that is more reputable and established.
So, I'm just backing up what this first guy said. He's right. I know because I went thru it too. But, I had to do what I had to do at the time. So, that's part of the story on Flat Creek out of Kinston
