One of our requests was to remove our account from auto-pay and send monthly invoice so we could pay by check. We wanted to discontinue using the credit card that was being billed. That request was ignored along with the rest of our issues. Eventually, we closed the credit card anyways. We decided that would surely get some attention. Instead of calling to check on the payments or answering our numerous requests to send invoices, Fleetmatics sent us to collections AND turned off the internet access.
We have been dealing with this for well over a year and still have no resolution for any of the issues. We will be forced to pay the entire contract despite the fact that the service is not available to us and has not been for months.

Fleetmatic uses a bank to finance/lease their devices. That's a tricky way for them to excuse themselves from obligatory responsibility in regard to service and reliability. They can say "tough luck if you don't like how we do business" because the BANK is the one that has you on your knees via a contract/lease.
There's a simply way out of this mess. You go directly to the bank and prove Fleetmatic is not doing what they intend to do. The other way out of this mess is if your company requires ELOGS/Hours of Service, tell the banking institution Fleetmatic's tracking does not offer this solution, rendering their service meaningless. Hours of Service is required for vehicles by the DOT. Fleetmatics, again, does not provide this service. This is a sure fire way out of their contract.

what do you think would happen if you do not pay? if you're not getting the invoices you ask for, then keep calling until you get them. no company will ever not get an invoice out to you.
If you don't pay, a company will shut off your service. For example, an electric company, or maybe even a cable company. If you don't comply they'll shut you off. Perhaps cable is more important to you than fulfilling a legal contract.
I don't expect you to understand legality. Perhaps your second grade education has only taught you that money is a good thing. Let me teach you something really quick, paying your bills is a good thing too. Maybe you should think about that before you sign something you cannot afford.
I have exp in A/R. You have to pay a service up to a current invoice (for those not familiar with business terms, that means an unpaid invoice that has been generated in the past 30 days, or whatever net terms that the company states) to get service turned back on. The more invoices you don't pay, the more you'll have to pay to get back turned on. Basically, if you don't pay for 3 months, you're done. They'll write you off quicker than a slacker in high school.
Perhaps your company should have a bit more professional and attempt to perhaps have a lawyer contact Fleetmatics' customer service, if you have such "customer issues" which I'm guessing is just having truck's gps not working for a week. Using such an immature technique as, "i'm not going to pay, wahhhh," just proves how much of an infant your company must be.
I suggest you take a big look in the mirror, stop complaining, and think a little bit. That's asking too much, I know.
