In reading a few of the reports about the FLSDU, I've decided to add my own situation. I never received my July support payment. I checked online and the payment was processed but was not directly deposited to my bank. It was the first time direct deposit was used, so here's my log of events

Fri July 10 - Payment processed and mailed

Thurs July 16 - Contacted the clerk of court. She stated that the check was returned to the SDU because the banking information was incorrect. She looked up my information and I agreed that I submitted the information incorrectly. Over the phone, she updated her system with the correct information and I sent by mail a new direct deposit form. She stated that she sent the information to the SDU via the internet and to give it a couple of days for them to receive the information. I knew of the 10 day hold on returned checks, so I checked my account frequently over the next few days.

Wed July 22 - Contacted the clerk again and she had no updated information except the check was on hold (reason unknown). I decided to wait out the rest of the 10 days.

Fri July 31 - Called the clerk again and still nothing. She said she would call the help center to find out what was going on.

Mon Aug 3 - I called the SDU and spoke with a less than helpful person who kept stating that I needed to contact the clerk of court. I called the clerk again and she said to call the SDU back and ask to speak to a supervisor. In call #2 to the SDU I simply stated that the girl couldn't help me and wanted to speak to a supervisor. They only work on a call back basis and it could take anywhere from 24 to 48 hours, so I left my name and #. Called the clerk back and told her I'll have to wait another 48 hours and she was told the same thing the Friday before.

Wed Aug 5 - Checked in with the clerk and she hadn't heard back from a supervisor.

Thurs Aug 6 - I called the SDU and stated that I was waiting for a call from a supervisor. They seemed to know my situation. I said to her that I've gone thru the clerk, I updated my banking information and the clerk was waiting for the check to be released so she could deposit the funds. She puts me on hold comes back on and said they couldn't call me back because they didn't have my call back number. I left it again and here I am still waiting.

Now next week my August payment should be processed. Don't you think that they should just reprocess the July payment with the August payment and pay me one lump sum? We'll see, in the meantime, starting Monday, I am calling the SDU daily and ask for a supervisor.
