The flycell people should be put behind bars for ripping off so many people, myself included. What started out to be a few free ringtones, ended up to be charges for text messaging and also a monthly fee. The worst part is that they had my cell provider, along with many others, so it looked like it was actually through my provider. Then my cell company told me (like I'm sure others) that they couldn't do anything about the charges. It came to me on their monthly billing!!!

Don't let anyone add something to MY bill, without my written consent! Now that I realize that I'm being scammed, I can't get anyone to cancel it. I really wish an attorney would take this one to court and make them pay back all of the innocent people that they conduct fraudulent activity on to get rich!!!

I'm glad that their address and phone were found by another victim, so I can try using those to talk to an actual person. If I can't reach anyone, I'm thinking about hiring an attorney, because this is big time FRAUD, and is just plain WRONG to pray on innocent hard working people!!

Mainly, the charges are valid, and your carrier had your permission to add the charges to your bill becuase they had your consent. If you go to the Flycell website (or every other 3rd party content sites), it shows the charges, and that you are signing up for a subscription. Similar to a magazine that offers you the first 4 issues for free (like Sports Illustrated), they will keep sending you magazines and will charge you for them. When you downloaded anything from flycell, you had to agree to the terms and conditions, giving flycell and your carrier the right to add to your bill.

I would recommend that you ask your carrier to block the 3rd party sites. They can do that for you, but you have to ask.

Contact your states PUC...

Here, in CA there is a law, protecting consumers from this kind of scam.

Check with the Public Utility Comission of your state about your state's law. (Do an on-line search for : state name+ "public utility comission". Then look for "telecom".

Check for info, contact number/e-mail. If nothing else, you can get somebody who can tell you your state's law, where you can complain, etc.

CA costumers can do a direct on-line search for: UCAN+ringtone to read about this issue. What to do, how to do.
