HTC mobile phone taken to Fone Masters to do a simple screen replacement. Work was paid for up front of 45 as requested by Fone Masters (a receipt was given) and told to collect the HTC mobile phone two days later. Two days later I return to collect the phone to be told that the phone frame was damaged also and that I would have to pay 15 more. I asked the company why they had not contacted myself to inform me of this instead of waiting two days until I came to collect the phone...to which he suddenly changed his story and said that they will be able to fix it and there would be no extra charge or anything and became very apologetic and to return again two days later after 4pm.

Two day later I returned yet again to be told he was still waiting for the part to be delivered and that it would be fixed with in the hour. He would also drop the phone off at my home. I was a bit surprised that all of a sudden they were ordering parts for the phone since he had not stated this earlier and I had not signed any extra paper work to carry out extra work.

Two hours went by and still no phone. I decided to go back to the shop were he repeated again I would have the phone with in the hour, it is fixed and just doing a software update. As you have probably already guessed no phone.

The following day I received a phone call from the company telling me to come in the next day first thing and the phone will be fixed. I have to be honest and by this time my patience was running thin and I decided to confront the company instead of waiting yet another day to get more excuses/lies. I went to the store and basically said cut the bull what is going on with my phone and that this is the final chance it had better be fixed by tomorrow. The company of course did not like this and yet another story came out that they in fact were awaiting a part to fix the phone. Apparently they had actually forced the frame back into place the previous day and it had worked until the software update and then the touch screen stopped working. At this point I did exclaim I thought you had already ordered a new frame and replaced it with that...not bend my old one back into shape, (that's right bend and break it more) and fixed it yesterday as this is what you had told me...all of sudden the statement was retracted about forcing my frame back into place and that in fact they had replaced the frame but it did not work and needed to order in yet another frame....

At this point I had enough and requested the phone back and a full refund since all that has been done is break my phone more, so much for just replace the screen. My intention was to just take it else were pay for their damage and just get my phone fixed my patience has ran out with the company. To this I was informed I could not collect my phone until tomorrow and that I had better come with 15 (this is on top of the 45 I have already paid up front)...to which I told them no I would not be paying 15 due to the damage being done by the company. At this he threw in my face do I have any proof of this, I'm and engineer I think I know what I am talking about. And after his little rant he repeated I would not get my phone back until tomorrow and I better have 20 (price gone up I see was 15 and also I have already paid for a screen replacement of 45 up front which still has not been done)

This is as far as I have gotten so far as we shall see what happens tomorrow but I advise everyone AVOID this company. Rude, Lie, Bunch of Cowboys...Do not trust them with anything, avoid unless you want to be with out a phone (unless your going to pay for work that they themselves have caused!)

I am just wondering what happened next with both of your situations? I am still fighting for my property back.

Well trading standards got involved and it got to the point I was going to have to take them to a small claims court (I still can due to the work not been done that I have paid for). 

The company also goes by another name Mircotek Repair Solutions both the same company (The shop front does say Fone Masters and the reciept states Microtek Repairs Solutions). I have since found out that numerous other people have been left in the same situation and at present the local shop in the UK is avoiding the customers by staying permentaly shut leaving customers unable to contact them and I am aware they are opening another shop locally in the town centre. They threaten customers and do anything they can to keep the item being very vague as to why and tried to push for more money, not sure what the customer service is like abroad but in the UK it is horrendous. 

I have posted on another site about them also to find them coming around to my house trying to intimidate me to take down my review which just makes me more stuborn to warn people and hopefully avoid my experiences with the company (I wrote the exact same review I did here).

Due to the situation a friend of mine was with me while seeking legal advice and was appauled at the severity it had gotten to threatening myself (I live alone with my young daughter), turning up at my home etc and had a quiet word with them which resulted in them handing over the phone. The phone itself is not repaired and in awful condition, no refund has been given. But to be honest I have just cut my losses now and happy to get the phone back and will send else were to have it repaired.

I find it appauling how little support there is on situations like this for the consumers and it's something that really needs to be looked at in the UK! The police and trading standards need to be given more flexibility, support and the right to be able to do more for the consumers being threatened and goods basically stolen from them!

I wish you luck and I hope that the shop is not the same as the shop in the uk! P.S I notice on my review I forgot to change the place to the UK for this specific shop that the dispute happened.

Hi was just wondering if you ever did get your phone back? My phones in there for repair now and having a few problems with them and get the feeling I'm not gonna get it back!!!
