I subscribed to this company that supposedly offers free wi-fi internet access.  They will send you a device in order to access the internet wireless after you provide them with a $99 security deposit.  When you start using the internet they soon start charging you $10.00 at 15 minute interval for something.  Supposedly it is data usage.  In the month of January there are almost $2000.00 on my credit card statement from these charges.

There system will supposedly send you a notification when you are nearing a data limit.  It doesn't do that.  To this day I have not received any notifications.

I would suggest that anybody should consider all other options before even considering using this company.

Data Usage Explanation

FreedomPop gives away a tremendous amount of free data to its users every day, and offers a great assortment of data plans at prices far more competitive than other data providers - all in our efforts to shake up the entire mobile data industry. This is not an easy thing to do, though, and FreedomPop needs to protect itself in order to allow us to keep providing data like we do. If users go over the data plan limit, they are shifted onto our pay-as-you-go plan in order to ensure that their connection is not interrupted and that the data is covered. Instead of charging by the MB, which would amount to multiple charges in pennies, we automatically top-up an account $10.00 credit and the data used is pulled from that.

Please note that we do not charge for time, but that the charges represent data used. In order to make reporting easy to see for users, we report and batch data usage in 15 minute intervals. Streaming high-definition movies, syncing large files, or playing video games online could possibly cause an extreme amount of data usage, as you reported.

We have been trying to reach out to you through email and telephone this past week to help resolve this issue for you. When you get a chance, Lewis, please respond to our voicemails so that we can help you out. Were more than happy to reach a resolution and have some good news to share with you!
