I purchased a laptop from Frys Electronics with my debit card Feb.27th 2009, and returned it on Feb.28th 2009, the credit was to be put back on my card within 72 hours. It shows it was put back on my Netspend account on March 1st 2009, but it was never physically put back on my debit card!

This is a good example of why you need a real bank. You said netspend which is a prepaid card company. I know with prepaid visa's and mastercards the amount does not go back all the time so they have to actually either issue you a new one or you have to get a hold of the company netspend and ask them what is up? Also because you are using a prepaid debit card its just a gimick its not really a debit card. Its a prepaid card plain and simple. Frys can issue the money back to the account but its up to netspend to put it on when they can. I had a purchase and even with a real bank took 10 days to clear a pending charge that was not even rung all the way through it was cancelled or voided and should not have reached them.
