Like Dave from Salt Lake City I have been plagued by billing for text services we never ordered, authorized, or used, from funmobile.com and flycell.com It seems you get an offer from one of these outfits that says "free ringtones" or something like that. If you enter your cell phone number BINGO! The bills start to show up on your Verizon bill as "text messaging" services. We were billed over $40 a month for these services for months. We called and complained to Verizon on numerous occassions. At first we were told that we must have signed up for these "services" which were purported to be weekly astrology reports or dating advice or some such garbage. We were told that we had only to dial 99621 and text "stop." We did so on October 7, 2006, and we have had over $115 in billing since. We called again were then given phone numbers to call to stop the billing but we could never get an open line-- small wonder! Finally in January we spoke to Verizon Technical Services at 1-800-922-0204 and they admitted the problems with these 3rd party vendors and told us they would stop the service. We still have a $35.00 bill from last month. When I tell Verizon I won't pay it they start all over again, telling me that I signed up for it, that they are not responsible for it, that I have only to dial 99621 and text "stop" to end it, etc. HOW CAN VERIZON MANAGEMENT ALLOW THIS? HOW MANY CUSTOMERS WILL THEY LOSE BY FAIING TO ACKNOWLEDGE THIS SCAM AND PUTTING AN END TO IT?
