I purchased a couch from this company in February, 2013 and they stated the delivery would be 1-4 weeks. After 4 weeks I did not receive the couch and called to inquire. They stated deliveries are late sometimes and they would be delivering soon. After 2 more weeks I called, because the status of the order didn't change, and got their customer service representative.
They stated they were in a legal dispute with the manufacturer (Ashley) and the account with my money was locked by them. He said I couldn't get a refund or the couch and would have to wait until their case was settled. I emailed their support line and told them I will be consulting with an attorney. The representative was reluctant to transfer me. I received an email back stating they would have my product in 1-2 weeks and would rush delivery.
After 2 more weeks, I called again and got the same legal story. I talked to a manager and he stated the same story and also that customers who purchased products for over 2 months were having the same issues. If they are guaranteeing these shorter delivery times, why did it take them so long to realize this and keep the ads running. I also asked why the same product I purchased was still being advertised and at a cheaper price, with a shorter delivery time (1-3 weeks).
He hesitated and stated it takes a lot to maintain a website. They did have time to modify it though. I have still not received a refund or the couch and I'm currently talking with an attorney, contacted the Better Business Bureau and emailed Ashley Furniture. Reviewing this site and the BBB site, this company is nothing but trouble and would advised anyone to stay far away. This has been the worst experience I have had with anything I have ever purchased online.
