I called GDS to check on my garage door that was still under warranty. I need a new garage door opener but did not plan on getting a replacement that day. The technician was very nice and accepted my answer that I wasn't paying $500 for a garage door opener that day. He left only to return to my door 10 minutes later to tell me his manager said if I bought the garage door opener that day they would put my $50 service call fee and a $50 coupon toward the new system bring the price down. I told him thank you but I would be waiting to have it replaced. The technician understood and left. 5 minutes later I get a call from GDS trying to strong arm me into getting the garage door opener that day. He said that there would not be any discounts at a later date. I said that is fine, I might be getting the replacement done after the 1st of the year. He then wanted a detailed reason as to why I wouldn't purchase the service that day. That made me mad! I told him that it was my business why I wanted to wait and that when I was ready I would call them after I got at least 2 other estimates. I then hung up. 10 minutes later another phone call from GDS, which I let go to voicemail and they wanted to set up a date to replace the garage door opener for January and get the sale firmed up. I called back and told them not to call me again, they had lost my business because I do not like being bullied into buying anything.
