GE Monogram General Electric Top of the line GE MONOGRAM dishwasher breaks 10 times in 3 years with SAME problem. Louisville Kentucky
I purchased a new home in 2005 and put all GE stainless steel top of the line Monogram appliances in my home. My GE Monogram dishwasher has broken 10 times for the SAME problem and the service technicians know me on a first name basis from being at my home so frequently. It is bad enough that the product has broken so many times but to add insult to injury they do not ever show up for their appointments to "fix" my appliance after asking me to stay at home between the hours of 8:00 and 5:00. The last appointment they confirmed they were coming three separate times in an eight hour time frame and then just "didn't show up". When I called to find out why the "customer service" person just said...."oh, that is odd" "they did confirm three times that you were home". "Well, maybe we can fit you in in three days."
I have on record. This dishwasher has broken 10 times. I have scheduled 24 different service calls between them not showing up or having to come back after ordering a part.
This company has the worst quality and customer service I have ever seen. I called Raymond Graft at GE's headquarters after being told he was the best person to "plead my case" to. My calls have been unanswered and not returned. Today I finally spoke to a man named Bill Bower in the same department who gave me a canned response about how he was so surprised I have had so many problems and he was going to email somebody about this right away to try and see if he could get me a "discount" on a new dishwasher! What?!?! I don't want a discount on a new dishwasher.....I want you to fix or replace this one that I spent so much money for in the first place. How is this helping? He spoke to me like I was being so unreasonable and said this was the best he could do. When I asked him for the name of someone in this department he was going to email he told me he could not give me this information.
Here is the cherry on the cake....After the first couple times this dishwasher broke the service guys told me they strongly suggest that I buy an extended warranty on these appliances because this model of dishwasher was made in Australia and they don't even carry it any more after ONE year because it has had so many problems. Soooooo, even though I purchased BRAND NEW top of the line appliances I shelled out another 1000.00 to cover them because at the advice of their own people this product is so bad it needs to have a warranty purchased!
So today I sit steaming mad with a broken dishwasher that has broken 10 times with the same problem, 24 service calls for which I took off work and sat chained to my house for fear I would miss the many "just wanted to confirm you were home" phone calls and at least 9 of those were times when nobody even showed up. What is wrong with this company? I will NEVER NEVER buy another GE product and I do not suggest you ever consider it yourself.
The GE truck has been to my cul-e-sack so many times that my neighbors joke we are having affairs with these guys. My neighbors all have very similar stories to mine and our appliances are all top of the line Monogram and brand new.
I feel like ripping them all out and starting over. Hey if you ever decide you can't live without them I am sure Mr. Bower can give you a nice discount on some.....and by the way, I have some ocean front property in Mexico I can sell you "really cheap".
