If you purchase auto insurance from Geico and happen to pay for an uninsured motorist policy, DO NOT expect them to honor it. Got hit by an uninsured motorist and guess who refuses to provide the coverage that was paid for in full. Upon discussing this with legal counsel after getting hit with over $12,000 in medical bills, Geico offered to pay $500. I was told this is a standard business practice by Geico Claims. In short, they sell you a policy they have no intention of honoring!

You must have asked them by now. It's illegal for them to just ignore legal claims under the terms of your policy. IF they are truly doing this, immediately report this to your state's insurance commissioner.
What does your policy, which I hope you've read, say about this? It IS the determining factor in this and not what any agent may have told you.
