About one month ago I received a phone call telling me I had agreed to be included in some monthly club using my Visa. They had the last four digits of that Visa. It turns out that the account they were referring to is not my account but my girlfriend's. I said I never signed up for anything and did not want to. The man then told me that perhaps someone had called me and I was rude so they signed me up anyway. I wanted to know how they could have gotten the account number and he said he did not know. The only way I could stop the items from coming every month and having a charge against "my" Visa would be to cancel everything right then with him. He said it would be recorded and after we were done my account would be back to zero. I did what he said and at the end he told me my account was now closed. Today I received two pornographic videos in the mail and the return address is the name of the company he had told me. Not only do I not want them, I am furious that I could have been on such a list. The phone number he gave me to call if I had any problem is bogus and I want to make sure I am not on their list but have no way of contacting them. So far nothing has been charged to my girlfriends Visa, at least not as of today, but I am very fearful that they might start deducting something in the future. It is a Visa check card and I don't even know how they associated my name with it. The bank says the only thing they can do is cancel the account and start a new one. My girlfriend has direct deposit and really does not want to do that if at all possible. She also wants to know how they could have her account number. Can you help us?
