Received a congratulatory letter as a winner of North American Utilities Draw held 4/24/2008, and have therefore been awarded a lump sum pay out of US$46,500.00, being part of the total prize money of US$25,234,000.00.

Accompanying the letter is a check for US$2,812.00 being the 'percentage surcharge' which I understand has been paid by the company to the Lotto Regulatory Board to cover charges/fees prior to my receiving the prize money.

The check is drawn on the Regions Bank account of Shannon Mall Investments LLC of Union City, GA. Branch and address of the bank do not appear on the check itself.

I am supposed to call the payment coordinator Mrs. Anita Myers or Michael Simmons at 1-514-638-8532 asp to assist me in finalizing the payment process. I have not been able to contact either one - the phone number seems inaccessible from Hawaii.

I am assuming that I have to pay the $2,812.00 back to the company after depositing the check into my own bank account and then withdrawing a similar amount in the form of a cashier's check and sending it to the company. The whole thing stinks. I never did participate in the draw to begin with.
