My husband and I bought a 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee a month ago and financed it through GMAC with 0% interest. My husband has has taken employment with a contractor company in support of a U.S. government agency to move overseas and we need a shipboard permission from GMAC to take this vehicle overseas. Our household goods will be shipped on the 21st of June and we are flying out on the 25th. GMAC DENIED our request to approve a shipboard permission for our vehicle stating that we are a risk, and couldn't be hold accountable at overseas. He has 24 yrs of Military service (retired in 2008) and also 2 yrs of service with Air Force at MacDill means NOTHING to these people. The VP of GMAC Financial Services Mr. Tim Gibbs told my husband that no matter who we contact, he will be the ONE to approve this permission and his decision is NO! We've even offered to send $1000 in good faith to prove that we are financially capable of paying off this loan. It is easy to shout and scream "we support our troops" but this is how they treat us! Tim Gibbs is questioning my husband's integrity! If we try to sell this vehicle we will lose approximately 12K and all because this mans ego trip. We are very frustrated the way GMAC is supporting their customers and Veterans! Thank you
