Purchased a three rail lower for a Ak-47 type rifle.

Item as advertised was stated to be an effective well made machined rail system with picatinny type rails. Also stated was the fact that the item was robust enough to hold zero and fittings.

The item as arrived initially appeared to be of fair quality. The mounting bracket provided looked weak and under installation conditions proved to be totally inadequate.

Remarkably so in fact to the extent that the poor quality bracket/ mounting basically folded up under installation.

The item was not cheap. Far more solid and effective items are available for similar prices on the US market.

THE ITEM IN QUESTION IS UNSUITABLE FOR A CHILDRENS TOY LET ALONE A RIFLE.

A classic example of let the buyer beware. Be cautious when purchasing products from Guntec, as the end state may be that you are out of pocket for a useless item that would require extensive modification to be even partially functional.

I PERSONALLY WILL AVOID GUNTEC USA IN THE FUTURE;I encourage others to to use their own discretion.

The product is not robust. The product is airsoft at best. When fitted correctly, a QD Tango-Down type short grip, it was possible to torque the Gun- Tec frame out of alignment by over 6 degrees- without application of excessive force: In a standing unsupported firing position, in the traditional opposing force for steadiness grip. The torque was raised by the gripping hand pressing against the fore grip, and the product flexing along its length. The product was initially tight, and held/ braced partially by the cleaning rod. The shim set not up to the task of mounting the rail set and maintaining anything like a zero. Unable to hold acceptable tolerances for mounting optical kit, designating or IR fittings - PAQ-4. I have kept this product as a reminder: Buy the best you can for the available $- not this. I really liked the concept of this kit. I did not want to go the way of this product: guns.com/review/2013/06/27/get-a-grip-of-midwest-industries-ak-ss-universal-handguard/ I used Ultimak uppers, and wanted to rail separately. I cannot endorse the Gun Tec product and stand by my original review..

First of all, it's a chinese product. I am actually surprised how well mine worked.

Second now, there is no "mounting bracket" - I don't know what they are talking about in the bad review. Mine mounted between the lower handguard retainer and the receiver.

I ordered the guntec tri-rail from BlackjackBuffers website some time ago. Product is fine. I installed it on an AK74 rifle. They give you a couple different shims to mate the handguard between your receiver and your lower handguard retainer because not every AK is built to the same exact specs.

Mine held fine, it was tight. It even withstood my launcher I had moutned to it after I blew up a polymer one in an accident haha. I noticed one problem when it got loose was because of my aftermarket lower handguard retainer. If you use this product with a regular factory handguard retainer and barrel notch it will be fine. The guy who had a problem with is might have had this specific issue. Sometimesz people don't want to press off their gasblock and install a factory handguard retainer when putting kits together or Saiga rifles so they opt for the aftermarket lower handguard retainers.

I'm actually looking for one of these lower handguard tri-rail from guntec again. I want to use it on another project.
