We had a client that was abusive and even threatened one of our consultants with physical violence and we fired him accordingly. We reported the client to GURU where we became in contact with them and GURU demanded we pay the money back to the client despite demonstrating evidence of the work performed.
We also wrote to GURU to advise them that the client was not who he stated he was as his email provided led to a different name on linkedin than on GURU but GURU sanctioned us to go ahead of with the work.
We refused to pay back the money at that point we moved our efforts away from GURU.COM also.
Two months later we received an email from GURU stating that the client had paid them fraudulently and that our company had to pay GURU back as they were out of pocket. They stated it is in their terms and conditions to pay them back if a client acts fraudulently. I explained to them with evidence in writing that they had been warned that the client was acting in a fraudulent and threatening manner and that they still sanctioned us to go ahead with the work.
They responded by saying they are not responsible for vetting every client they deal with despite avoiding the issue of that we had warned them in writing BEFORE the work was carried out.
They ignored this issue as they had no answer for it and instead deleted our account along with 3 years of positive reviews on over 50 projects out of spite.
They have been reported to the Better Business Bureau also.
Please avoid GURU, they are a very nasty, seedy and incompetent organization who take no responsibility for their illicit actions have no regard to vendor welfare. All they care about is where the money is coming from.
We even emailed the CEO during this whole time and he never had the courtesy to even respond.
