I purchased an account in EVE-Online with these guys. took a little while to get it but I did get what I paid for,(nothing to complain about there) The issue is that someone within Gamepal changed my password while I was playing the game(disconnected me)

I have yet to be able to log in. It's been over a month now of e-mailing them every day asking them to do something about it. I get a new support staff every day that is no help at all.  They keep telling me they are talking with CCP to resolve this issue? but they wont tell me what the "issue" is.

All I know is that I paid for an account and now I can't access it, and that they had the ability to change the passwords at will.

Sure ! shit happens, but why was someone taking the time to change my password if there was no malicious intent to begin with? it takes quite a bit of effort to change a password and it was no mistake by any means.

I can see it now. They will reply with something like "CCP" has banned your account blah blah blah. and they get to keep it and re-sell it to someone else.

#3 Consumer Suggestion

Company is legit. They transfer characters off accounts. Supports EULA.

AUTHOR: Richard - (United States of America)

I'm lost here. What does GT have anything to do with this transaction? They aren't the same companies. I sell to them, I should know. They supply them it looks like yes but you included companies that have nothing to do with this transaction.

Furthermore, GT moves characters from one account to another. Perfectly legit. Re-read the EULA again. In accordance to Section 3 of CCP's EULA:

"You may transfer a character from your Account to another account, either belonging to you or another person. This transfer option is available from the EVE Online Account Management web site and is subject to fees and the following limitations"

Therefore, what they do is legit and in favor of their terms and conditions. I would know being that I do this for a living, supplying them. Never once had an issue with CCP. As long as EVE makes profit, they could care less what happens.

Meanwhile, GT has so much feedback 25,000+ feedback on dozens of websites and maybe one of the few legit companies that actually deal in accounts.

Read EULA!

AUTHOR: Matthew Jazwinski - (Canada)

I now actually "READ" the EULA on the games instead of just clicking Agree..

I was actually convinced that purchasing through gamepal was like purchasing ETC through other 3rd party sites. Epic Fail on my part to go this route without reading the EULA.

Good luck then

AUTHOR: Ashley - (U.S.A.)

" I know the rules and I've never said they condone it. I said they have a similar game mechanic, therefore the act of acquiring a character is not cheating. You buy plex to sell for isk to buy characters in EVE. In Gamepal you just buy the character. It's just a matter of who gets the money.   https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=topics&f=277 - Check it out."

It is cheating though. Letting anyone else play your character is against the rules. Pure and simple. Its people like you that ruin the game for legitimate players.

"CCP's rules have nothing to do with the issues that I'm having right now."

Of course they don't. If your account was legit this would never have happened.

"I'll reiterate what I said "My game is not Banned.  I just can't access it because someone within Gamepal changed the passoword." My account is still active" but in Gamepals agreement I can't talk to CCP about it (for obvious reasons) so therefore they have to do the password change."

That right there is a red flag for me. You want to argue what you did is legit and okay, yet you can't contact CCP about someone stealing your account? I'm sorry, but if someone took my account the first thing i would do would be to open a ticket with CCP to get it resolved. The fact that you will not do this shows me that you know what you did is wrong. You know that if you open the ticket with CCP there's a good chance they will just ban the account.

" Like I said: you sound like a GamePal employee trying to make an excuse to never give me my account back on the pretence of "CCP BANNING ME because of an EULA breach"."

I"m not. I"ve never worked for this bottom feeding, scum sucking, piece of trash company. They are the worst of the worst when it comes to lowlifes on the internet.

"Im here to point out a scam. Plain and simple."

A scam that you willingly fell in to by trying to cheat the system. Frankly, I"m glad your account was taken. Play the game legit, or don't play. We don't need cheaters playing the game. If you think everything is cool, then open a ticket with CCP and tell them your account was compromised. Tell them someone hacked and took it from you. That's really your only hope to get the account back. You think gamewar even cares about this rip off report? They are in the business of ripping people off because they know people can't do anything to them about it.

CCP's rules have nothing to do with the issues that I'm having right now.

I'll reiterate what I said "My game is not Banned.  I just can't access it because someone within Gamepal changed the passoword." My account is still active" but in Gamepals agreement I can't talk to CCP about it (for obvious reasons) so therefore they have to do the password change.

This is not a gripe about CCP banning me, I don't know why you have taken this topic in that direction.
This is about a company selling a product then someone within the company ( weather it be approved behaviour or not) Changed my password on a paid account and I've yet to get it back.

Like I said: you sound like a GamePal employee trying to make an excuse to never give me my account back on the pretence of "CCP BANNING ME because of an EULA breach".

I'll say it one more time just to drive it home. My account is not banned by CCP. Therefore logic dictates that the problem lies with something(someone) else. Ie. GAMEPAL!

I'm not here to dispute CCP's EULA . Im not here to ask CCP for my account back or try to get sympathy from anyone.

Im here to point out a scam. Plain and simple.

AUTHOR: Ashley - (U.S.A.)

here ya go:

ACCOUNT TRANSFER / CHARACTER TRANSFER
You are not permitted to transfer your Account to another person. If you wish to discontinue your Account please refer to section 6. of this EULA. You may transfer a character from your Account to another account, either belonging to you or another person. This transfer option is available from the EVE Online Account Management web site https://secure.eveonline.com/login.asp and is subject to fees and the following limitations: You may not offer to transfer characters except your own, or act as a "broker" or intermediary (for compensation or otherwise) for anyone wishing to transfer or obtain characters. The transferee will obtain all rights to your character in a single transaction, and you will retain absolutely no control or rights over the characters, items or attributes of that character. You may not transfer any characters whose attributes are, in whole or in part, developed, or which own items, objects or currency obtained or acquired, in violation of the EULA.

Any character transfers or attempted transfers not in accordance with the foregoing terms is prohibited and void, and shall not be binding on CCP. A transfer or attempted transfer of a character is entirely at the risk of the parties to such transaction. CCP is not liable to any person (whether transferor, transferee or otherwise) for any acts, omissions, statements, representations, defaults or liabilities of the parties in connection with such a transaction."

if you transfer the character to another person through any means other than therough the official eve online account management page you are in violation of the terms. Do you really think they care how much you have spent? These game companies don't look at your account and go, gosh he's spend thousands of dollars with us maybe we shouldn't ban him.  They can, and will, ban you for violating the game. You were stupid for giving gamewar any part of your account. They are scammers, liars, and cheats. You are also trying to purchase an advantage in a game, which makes you a cheat also.

"B. Selling Items and Objects
You may not transfer, sell or auction, or buy or accept any offer to transfer, sell or auction (or offer to do any of the foregoing), any content appearing within the Game environment, including without limitation characters, character attributes, items, currency, and objects, other than via a permitted Character Transfer as described in section 3 above. You may not encourage or induce any other person to participate in such a prohibited transaction. The buying, selling or auctioning (or any attempt at doing so) of characters, character attributes, items, currency, or objects, whether through online auctions, newsgroups, postings on message boards or any other means is prohibited by the EULA and a violation of CCP's proprietary rights in the Game."

also from the rules of conduct:

"You may not share your account password with anyone. Infraction of this rule is done at your own risk. Further information on account transfers can be found in the EULA.

Actually , Actually.

AUTHOR: Matthew Jazwinski - (Canada)

Sure I agree 100% with you . But EVE does condone character transfers , they have a CCP endorsed website that is a "bazarr" for characters. Sure it's not 3rd party like gamepal but they do support the game mechanic of selling characters.

Im getting at the fact that I've owned this account for over 2 years with no problems. I've done NOTHING to make CCP think it was a purchased account. If anything CCP loves me  I've bought over $2500 worth of plex from them with the aforementioned character. It would be a dumbass move on there part to ban me considering how much I support them.

Like I said. I got logged out and my password was changed. I was not banned. there is a huge difference. My account status is still "Active" to this day. I simply don't have the password. Do you see what I'm getting at..

Account is not banned. only me and Gamepal had the ability to change the passwords. and it happened right before my eyes.

So you are incorrect with your assumptions that CCP somehow randomly decided to pick me out of the 500 000 plus accounts and chose to ban me with no prior communication or reasoning.

You sound like a Gamepal employee to be honest.

Ps. CCP is not Blizzard. stop grouping them together like that. sure they both make games. but have vastly different EULA's .

Actually...

AUTHOR: Ashley - (U.S.A.)

They do have grounds to stand on. Its their game. They reserve the right to ban anyone for any reason. In this case, hiring a company to level a character for you is against their terms of service. If they find out, they will ban you. This is industry standard. Most companies go as far as to say if anyone but the original owner of the account plays on the account they can ban you. Transferring accounts between people is forbidden, there's not grey area. You didn't level the account, so you run the risk of the ban. That's what happens when you buy things on the black market.

Banned

AUTHOR: Matthew Jazwinski - (Canada)

They had told me that they have lvld then account themselves . And why randomly would CCP decide that my account was purchased without asking?and if there was a problem GamePal states on there main website that all accounts are "insured" after purchase. I don't buy isk or anything else like that so CCP would have no real grounds to stand on.

AUTHOR: Ashley - (U.S.A.)

Guess what? Your account is gone. Game makers like CCP and Blizzard specifically put in their terms of service that its against the rules to sell your account. CCP likely found out this account had been sold and banned it. the other scenario is the original owner decided they wanted their account back. At any point the original owner can contact CCP and claim to have been hacked. Then they get their account back, no questions asked. Why don't you just play the game legit instead of cheating and breaking the rules?
