We went to work for Gary and Jennifer Flora owners of Vandywood stables in Jan. of 2013. We agreed to work one day a week at the stables in exchange for board for one horse. Our horse was moved in one week after we began working at the stables and we were not compensated for that one day of work.

On Feb. 16, 2013 we sold our horse. We then made arrangements to work at the stables on Saturdays and Sundays for $83 per day of work. Jennifer told us she issues checks on the 1st and 15th of every month. We continued to work for the Floras on Feb.17, 23, 24, and March 2, 3, and 9. On March 1st we did not receive a check.

On March 3rd we agreed to buy a horse from the Floras. We put $200 cash down as a down payment. We did not agree to have our back wages go towards the purchase price of the horse. We asked several times for a sales contract on the horse but the Floras refused to produce one.

On March 9th we chose to quit working for the Floras because of the dangers of handling their horses. We had been bit, kicked and drug too many times because their horses are aggressive and untrained. We requested our back wages of $581 dollars and the Floras refused to pay us any of it.

If you quit a job your employer cannot refuse to pay you for the time you have worked. The Floras are dishonest criminals. We suffered many hours of hard labor and suffered several injuries from working for them and they refuse to compensate us. We said we would take the horse in lieu of a cash payment and they also refused that. They ripped us off and will pay us nothing for the 7 days we worked for no payment. Do not work for these scam artists.

Vandywood

AUTHOR: Anonymous - ()

I have known Jennifer and Gary Flora, the owners of Vandywood Stables longer than this little malcontent has been alive and I have NEVER known them to mistreat, or disrespect an employee much less a horse. What I have seen is an apparent lack of any moral fiber and total incompetence in Tiffany Eilers ability to handle even the gentlest of horse. She apparently and boldly misrepresented herself to Jennifer and unwittingly characterized herself as a knowledgeable and experienced horse care provider.  She subsequently exaggerated her EXTREMELY limited abilities and put her own self in harms way as well as the horses she attempted to unsuccessfully care for. Since the Floras are a private horse farm it came to their attention too late that it appears Tiffany Eiler has pulled this act on several others. Jennifer is highly respected within the horse community and has owned a successful local business for well over 30 years. Tiffany what have you done with your life other than spread vicious stories and untruths about successful EMPLOYED people???? Karma is nothing you of all people should be messing with....and I do indeed feel sorry for you.
