Gateway Computers E Machine Low Quality, poor customer service, deceptive, Rip Off , Internet

I purchased a Gateway Laptop from QVC last year (13 months ago). The purchase price was $576. Just two weeks ago the laptop hard drive went bad and is now inoperable. I was upset thinking I paid over $500 for this laptop and it should have lasted alot longer for the price after all I have a Dxxx and a Sxxx (((REDACTED))) and they are over 4 years old and working fine except they are slower units.

Well I figured why not try and contact gateway and see if they would fix the Laptop for nothing since it is only 13 months old. Well thats when I started to feel like Gateway didn't want me to contact them.
(1) You are not allowed to speak to a human unless your laptop is under their 12 month warranty. You must chat with them on line.
(2) When I started to chat with them I found out they were chating from India or some other country liuke pakastan
(3) I had been disconnected from the chat 4 times because I didnt type fast enough. Even though i told them I type slow.
(4) After chatting with them for two hours their reply was "We are sorry for your frustration but it will cost you $199.00 for us to fix your laptop.

I tried to talk to managment and got the same result. I told them that for the price I paid for the Laptop it should have lasted allot long than one month after the warranty was over.

I took the laptop to a couple different computer repair centers and they all told me the same thing. That if they fixed this Gateway i would be back because of other failures in this laptop that they had experianced. One shop owner took me to his computer repair area and he showed me three laptops just like my Gateway and then he showed my 7 more that were not economicaly smart to repair.

he then began to show me internet sites that warned of Gateway and their quality. Emachines (the ones you could buy at walmart a couple of years ago and now you cant. Well E machine was sued due to inferior products and they built their new computers with used parts and then sold them to consumers around the world. At about the same time Gateway went bankrupt then to avoid anymore lawsuits emachine purchased the rights to gateway. Well now if you buy a Gateway you get the quality of a Emachine..

This is the last Gateway that will ever be in my house and all of my friends and family will know the quality of Gateway in hopes of preventing them from wasting their money.

Dont get me wrong...I know Gateway doesnt have to fix my laptop but if I continue to own it then I will have to pay $199 a year to maintain it. Not worth it...Dxxx and Sxxx you will get my business from now on..
