I recently purchased a boat, and within the first week I was having it towed home from the coast. My buddy was the one towing my vehicle, which is a GEICO Insurance customer. On the way home, within the first 15minutes, they wrecked. My boat was totaled. The trailer was totaled. And the boat was hauled away- currently sitting on a $2000.00+$50.00 per day tow bill. Geico, refuses to pay for anything. They dont want to pay for property damages, repairs or any more then $300.00 on the tow bill. My friend pays for full coverage insurance, and we're being told its not their companies responsibility to pay for any of it because its not an automobile. How do they figure? Its property damage. And every other insurance company has told me that my boat is covered under the vehicles insurance while being towed, that boat insurance only covers it while its in the water, and that if something happened to it at home, my home owners insurance will cover it. I dont understand whats going on. What are their customers paying for?
