We ordered a radiator core from this company via phone. There was no option to order it on the website. While ordering it I specifically asked if they accepted returns, Dan (a worker at General Radiator) said "Yes of course". There is no return policy listed on the web site, that’s why I had asked. I was told the total amount due including shipping was $719.95, I paid with my credit card.
Upon receiving the item, right away I noticed it was not what I wanted. Beyond the fact that the quality of the item was extremely poor, the holes didn't even line up correctly. I refuse to put a piece of junk into a very expensive dump truck that I have to use in my business. Anyone who is a small business owner I'm sure can relate. I also took the item to a local radiator specialist and he agreed that this core would ruin my truck. I have a notarized letter attesting to that.
I called General Radiator that day to let them know I would be returning the item and wanted a refund. Once again I spoke with Dan, who was incredibly rude and ignorant. He refused my request for a return, he said the best he could do is give me a store credit. I have no use for a store credit from a store that has at best low quality hack merchandise.
That being said, I pulled the receipt out to see if there was any return policy stated on it, and to my surprise, not only was there NO return policy listed anywhere, but there was also NO price on the receipt! This was a huge red flag for me. I was given the run around by this company for a week and then decided to contact my credit card company to dispute the charge. At this point I'm under the impression that it was a $719 charge. Guess again, General Radiator has ILLEGALY over charged my card by $150!!!
I have filed complaints with my local office of consumer affairs, I have submitted the claim to my credit card company, and I am taking this to small claims court. My rep from the Attorney General's office of consumer affairs is disgusted with how they have treated her. They screen calls, they make up fake names, they give times to call back and no one answers. The owner of this company is named James Porges, regardless of what "Dan" or "Mike" may tell you.
I caution you do not EVER do business with these people it is a nightmare. I am seeing this through till the very end and I will be getting my money back and then some. These people are rude, unprofessional and deceitful.
