Gentiva Healthcare Odessey Healthcare, Hospice Company, Home Care TAKES ADVANTAGE OF THEIR RNs by NOT PAYING THEM FOR THE Work THEY Do or threaten them with termination if they work overtime because their workload is too heavy!! Palm Desert, California

I worked for this company for a year. During that time, I observed the management telling the nurses that there would be no over time. I spoke to all of the RNs employed there and most of the LVNS. All of the reported that they have such heavy schedules assigned to them that they are unable to get their work done during work hours and each night have from 1-4 hours of paperwork that they must complete at home that is due the next morning in the office. If the work is not completed, they are warned, and if it continues they are eventually terminated. If they request pay for after hours work, they are counseled for not completing their work and are shamed and told that the other nurses are completing their paperwork. I was not terminated from this company, I left after I refused to travel literally hundreds of miles a day and complete paperwork before the next morning. I would put in for the overtime and was told that I could no longer have the overtime, but still needed to have my work in the next morning. This is NO PLACE for an RN to work!! If you are able, STAY AWAY from this company!!
