I received a letter as a so-called winner in the CONSUMER PROMOTION DRAW organized for all customers of the major stores in U.S.A., CANADA, AND UNITED KINGDOM e.g.: Wal-Mart, Sears, Home Depot, Safeway, etc.
The letter was headed as Wal-Mart Foundation and their corporate office address. The same scam as others but the company name being used appears to be a legitimate company.
Told to contact the claim agent before acting on the letter - the claim agent being Mr. George Benson. A check for $3100 was enclosed drawn on the Bank of Bentonville and supposedly written by Wal-Mart treasurer Charles M. Holley (I looked it up - that is the actual treasurer's name).
Obviously this is a scam as I have been reading about similar letters sent to others but from different company names.
