The sales rep from the George S. May Company came by and told me they had all the answers to fix my business, and for a $350 evaluation fee, they'd send a guy to examine my business and explain the process. He assured me they weren't selling anything, but just offering to provide services.
This sales guy came down and proceeded to tell me about all the money my business had lost in 2004, how the May company could fix this, said the Vice president and Regional Manager (or other senior company officials) had contacted him personally, because of their genuine concern for my business,(and my case was the only time these people had ever been this intrested in anyone's business) and these higher ups, even suggested for him to have me fill out credit card aps, so as to pay for May's services.
This guy also told me I had to sign up today or May's services wouldn't be offered again, for a year, and by then, I'd be bankrupt! He assured me that if they could just come start the plan, they would then be available whenever needed. He assured me that they would not charge over $9000.00.
Next comes the Fix-it guys who spend 3 days making out 2 excel spreadsheets, and changing some things on our computer, in Quickbooks, leaving with over $8000 of our money.
Next, comes 1 guy, for Thursday, and Friday, and bills us $5500.00. I told him at lunch that I wanted to terminate the contract, and when I reminded him of that Friday afternoon, he said he didn't understand that earlier, and it was now too late in the afternoon to cancel the contract, so he would hve to return on Monday.
After wasting 8 hours on Monday he presented me a bill for $2300.00, and finally left. Before leaving he gave us a contact number for what he called "World Class Client Care". We've used this number once, and were finally called back the next day, was promised a fax addressing and answering our question, and still havent recieved the fax, or a return call, 5 days later.
THESE GUYS ARE EXTREMELY HIGH PRESSURE SALESMEN, PREYING ON THE SMALL FRAILE BUSINESS'S OF AMERICA, BY PROMISING TO MAKE YOUR BUSINESS PROFITABLE, OR CONVINCING YOU, YOU''L BE BROKE SOON, IF YOU DON'T HIRE THEM!! SEND THEM OUT OF YOU OFFICE TODAY!!! THEY TOLD ME I HAD LOST $90,000.00 IN 2004--IN REALITY, I HAD MADE $23,000.
