When I called customer service, they did not care that the package was not delivered and would not refund the extra Saturday delivery fee. The customer service person just kept repeating that since they tried once to deliver, that nothing could be done. And that they can't make their delivery company go back to the receiving address.
When I explained all the particulars of the situation, this company would not budge on the extra Saturday delivery fee. Do not order from GiftTree.com. They don't care if your package is delivered when it's supposed to be.

The customer ordered the gift and chose Fed Ex Saturday delivery. Fed ex attempted delivery on Saturday and no one was home to sign for the package. As much as we would like to have more control over Fed ex we can not force them to go back to the address later in the day as they have other deliveries and we are not provided with cell phone numbers for each driver. When we send messages to Fed ex regarding deliveries the message travels through a number of channels and we can not guarantee the driver will get the message before they return to the terminal. So it is not a matter of us not caring whether the package is delivered or not we simply physically can not make a driver take a package back to the same address twice in one day. Fed ex will not refund the shipping charges since they did attempt delivery on the date requested and paid for by the customer.
We hope that our customers understand that when they choose to ship alcohol and the recipients are not home by law Fed ex can't leave the package and will attempt delivery the next business day. The item was successfully delivered the following business day at the second attempt. We apologize that this customer is unhappy and we would be happy to discuss this further if he would like to contact me directly.
