This won't be very long, But i recently went to a wedding show and glamour shots was there. they were giving out free hair and make up sessions so i signed up not knowing what i was in for.
They called me to have me set up an appoint but i had to put down $20 dollar deposit for my "free session". This is when i should of ran but love makes a girl do stupid things. I decided to go to glamour shots to get photos done for my boyfriend for valentines day. Everything started well, the hair and make up were beautiful and the pictures turned out great! well most of them but that's irrelevant.
The problems started after it was time to pick out a package and pricing...the sales associate was somewhat cryptic at first about prices first creating collages and doing touch ups but would not tell me prices. After much time wasting i told her what i actually had planned for the pictures i just wanted 8x10's to put in a book.
then she told me a price it would be over 720 dollars! i was awestruck! i intended on spending under a hundred dollars and had absolutely no idea how expensive this actually was when i started or i never would have gone. I loved the pictures too much and the girls were kept telling me how much he would love them and how good they looked and i ended up stuck with a 470 dollar photography package with (6) 8x10's a slideshow and proofs thats right 6 actual printed pictures!
By the time i got home i had completely changed my mind, my mother called the store because i was too distraught to talk to them. They told her there was nothing i could do. I had signed a contract even though it was 1 hour maybe less since i signed it could not be changed! i didn't even want to end it just change it! i was not allowed a grace period to terminate or renegotiate the contract. which i was under the impression was illegal but they said otherwise and said there was absolutely no way to back out.
The manager said i was explained the contract and the details entailing it, i was not they too busy asking questions about my personal life, i don't mind them being nice but the manager cant turn it on me when it was not explained i understood the price but had made a rash desicion and was told i was completely unable to back out. appparently rather soon somebody else from the company will be contacting me, i cant wait im just hoping for a renegotiation i just want my proofs and slideshow. im just warning other women... and hoping for answer and to let them know what can happen.... you cant back out cant change anything without corporate runaround be warned

CALL YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY NOW AND TELL THEM THAT YOU CALLED THEM THE SAME DAY TO CANCEL AND PROVIDE THEM PROOF SUCH AS YOUR PHONE BILL
THERE IS A 3 DAY CONTRACT LAW, ANY CONSUMER HAS THE RIGHT TO CANCEL A
CONTRACT WITHIN THREE DAYS OF THE INITIAL TRANSACTION.,
THE REASON THE STAFF WAS FRIENDLY IS BECAUSE THEY WORK ON COMMISSION AND NEED YOU TO BUY FOR THEM TO GET PAID, I KNOW THIS IS BECAUSE MY FRIEND USED TO WORK FOR THEM AND SHE GOT TIRED OF IT BECAUSE SHE KNEW IT WAS A RIP OFF AND COULDN'T STAND THEIR SCHEMING WAYS SO SHE QUIT.

I don't agree with this complaint...Glamour Shots of Appleton does AWESOME work!!!

As a recent customer of Glamour Shots of Appleton, I was shocked to see that there was a complaint against them. I just had some pictures done for Valentine's Day as well and not only was the staff very friendly and helpful...but my makeup, hair, and pictures turned out beautifully as well. I was extremely pleased with my session and experience at Glamour Shots. It sounds to me like this complaint by Lydia is more of a personal problem and not a "rip off" in any way. She should have thought more carefully before signing a contract, and maybe like many people, she didn't take the time to read through it, which is definitely her own fault, not Glamour Shots. When I was there, the girls didn't pressure me at all. They let me view my slideshow right away after the session, and asked me to pick out my favorites. Then from there, I narrowed my favorites down (because there was so many!) to fit my price range. In no way was I pressured to spend more than my budget, or misled in any way. I ended up geting an 8 X 10 and four 5 X 7's. I remember the contract being explained to me and I knew before I left that I could not make any changes to the order whatsoever. That's why it took me about an hour to pick out my pictures...I wanted to be sure before I left that I had picked out the perfect ones! So when I got home I was very pleased about the photo session and was just excited to recieve my photos in a week!
So my point here, Lydia, is that I think you should stop blaming Glamour Shots and start accepting responsibility for your fault in this. You obviously liked your pictures which is why you ended up spending more than you first thought. Also, after reading the owner's comment, it seems like you gave a little late notice on wanting to change your order, and it is understandable that once the order has reached the lab in OK, it cannot be changed. So instead of being angry and trying to bring their reputation down for no reason, learn from the experience, and move on.
And to everyone else, don't let one complaint stand in your way if you are looking to go to Glamour Shots...because they do an awesome job and I absolutely LOVE how my pictures turned out! :)

The typical session & policies of all the Glamour Shots in the world, whether they book a paid session or get a free session, they are required to give a $20 deposit to hold that time slot..The $20 deposit is deducted from the purchase & is not an additonal charge. Glamour Shots does an airbrush makeover & hairstyle to the clients liking. They then take a 16-20 pose photo shoot in 3 different outfits. They then view their photo session in a slideshow presentation to music on our large plasma screens. The client is presented all the options (as requested by focus groups throughout the country) "before pricing." The client picks out poses & is presented with a package based on their favorites. A package is agreed upon by the client & is made aware that this order is downloaded to our lab in Oklahoma City & cannot be changed or cancelled once we put the order through. They also sign the invoice that they agree to this & understand their order. This processing starts immediately & usually completed within hours. Most orders are back in our studio or the clients home within 5 - 8 business days. Besides the awesome reputation of great pictures,this is another reason people come to Glamour Shots is because of the fast turnaround of lab processing. In this particular instance, our records show Lydia left at 2:30 PM on Sunday. There is no record of anyone calling to cancel an order on Sunday. Had that been done within an hour, we could have possibly changed the order. Our manager, Lisa, said that she received a call from Lydias mother on Monday to change the order. She was told that it was already printed & could not be changed. After a short conversation, her mother" hung up on Lisa."
At this writing, have still not heard from Lydia & since she is 23 years old, she is the person that legally (as per our legal team & Better Business Bureau) needs to have called regarding her order. Regarding her concerns: 1. the $20 deposit was credited toward her purchase; 2. Would not tell me prices - Cannot give price until all options & favorites are picked out 3. Ended up stuck with $470.00 package - Includes 6- 8 x 10 all touched up, a complete slideshow setto music of her entire session & a proof sheet of entire session. 5. Grace period to renegotiate - That is why she signed our agreement that she understood her order was final & cannot be changed. Lydia is right, once an order is placed it is impossible to change or cancel an order once it is placed. Her order should be here by Friday(delayed 2 days because of ice storm in Oklahoma City) which includes her 6- 8 x 10 touched up & proofs. The slideshow was given to her when she left the store on Sunday. I welcome & expect to be contacted by email at sharcoinc@gmail.com so we can exchange phone numbers & see what we can work out.
