SEO Reputation Management at its best!

For months I have been looking into work I can do from home on my computer. I came across Global Domains International and thought it sounded like a great idea --at first. See, at first I thought I would be getting my own domain name so that I could sell domain names to others FOR THEIR BUSINESSES, so that, like an area code, .ws would be the .com of the 21st Century. This is not the case with GDI, people!! Today I actually listened to the "movie" on the home page of their website, and that's when it sank in: This is a pyramid scheme. Then I decided to check out the Rip-Off Report to see if anybody else on the Internet had an opinion similar to mine and was not surprised to see several.

Don't let GDI rope you in! If all you are doing is selling domain names for the sole purpose of those people going out and selling domain names, for the sole purpose of those people going out and selling domain names, so that they can tell five friends, and so on, and so on, then that is what this is exactly! The only way a person makes fantastic money at this is if they can get a line on a bunch of suckers who do not recognize this scam for what it really is.

Sorry!! GDI is not your fast train to super wealth! In order to truly have a business, one must first have a product to sell: and GDI doesn't have a product to sell. It is sad, really, because so many people out there are looking for their own domain name that selling domain names for commercial purposes with an ending other than .com is actually a great idea. It is too bad GDI is not set up like that -- then they'd REALLY make a killing!

I agree with you. One can't go anywhere because no one is buying a .WS domain name. What I found simirlary to be good and valuable is Solavei. If you want a switch go to them. It is amazing. I have been with them and I am very very happy member.

You are on a subject you know nothing about.

In my opinion. You look like a starvin marvin on a shoe string looking

You know. If you knew what you were talking about. You wouldn't be hyjacking this thread working your way in on pre-paid legal while bashing GDI.

Now, a real marketer would own their own domain, website and only send traffic to your own website.

Yep, I've seen many of experienced newbies like you begging for hits and sending traffic to a rent a site that you do not own, control and where someone esle invested into themselves for their own business and have folks like you to rent a affiliate clone of the parent site.

I bet you probably don't even know the real meaning what BAR really stands for in American Bar Association.

Oh wait. You would say it's railing before you enter the Corporation side.

GDI Scam? Only in the Minds of the Mindless!

AUTHOR: ClearVision1 - (United States of America)

Like the original reporter, I was researching "work-at-home" businesses to supplement my retirement and came across Global Domains International.  The difference is that I came to a completely different conclusion.

As a retired auditor and father of an attorney (who was immediately consulted) I must file this rebuttal so that anyone genuinely interested in the GDI opportunity is not swayed by false information.

First, the term "pyramid" is a legal term for an illegal business scheme.  The term should not be used loosely, because the Triangle Business concept used by most US corporations (only the owners and people at the top make the real money) would be  classified as illegal.  It makes me wonder if this person who has such contempt for the corporations has ever held a job. Talk about suckers! GDI is NOT a pyramid, because the first legal determinant is NO PRODUCT.  GDI HAS a product; it is exactly what the original reporter says it is NOT.  If the  ".ws" domain name is not a product, then neither is the Google.com or Yahoo.com websites.  I question her understanding of the video.

GDI offers a business opportunity that 20 years ago Harvard University tagged as the future model for businesses of the 21st century -- network marketing.  Even the author of "Rich Dad Poor Dad" now advocates this business model, and rest assured it is not from the "Poor Dad" side.  It allows people to own their own business (with all the tax advantages) and the chance to build a team of WILLING participants who also recognize the opportunity.  The young gentleman who is pushing PrePaid Legal doesn't seem old enough to remember when his company went through the same "pyramid" accusations before they became "credible".  By the way if you're looking for GDI's presence on BBB, why wouldn't someone look where the company is located -- not in your hometown?

Anyone looking at the GDI opportunity should operate on facts -- not some uninformed person's misconceptions.  Otherwise you're letting yourself be "Ripped OFF" by falsehoods.  GDI is really set up to "make a killing" but only for those who have the common sense to recognize it.

I help people with attorneys and know some things. In regards to GDI and what I've found_

AUTHOR: Sirslappy - (U.S.A.)

I'm not an attorney and what I'm about to say isn't legal advice. What I'm about to tell you is from my own experience working with a company that has attorneys.

I run a business that helps people with attorneys, so therefore I know some things. I became somewhat familiar with GDI since I'm constantly looking to combine other RELEVANT business's together to generate multiple income sources and referrals this way. I came across GDI through a guy promoting it on a site I go to and talk about my business through. This guy emailed me when I reviewed his site. His company is (HHWF) and Powerline 100 (P100) "Success Plus Team", which seems to combine the usage of GDI.

First thing I've noticed from his ads is the fact that this company makes specific claims to how much you can expect to make. From my own experience(I'm not an attorney again but I do work for a program of attorneys) I know that in some states it's illegal to make claims such as get paid daily - When you market online then you have to abide by world-wide compliance issues and know those laws. If I were to ever make any claims of money I'd have my attorney look over it through the low cost legal program I have in order to help protect myself from lawsuits. First thing to ask yourself with ANY business is how will these guys protect me? I see no type of protection or legal help through GDI and I also see some things that MIGHT be considered breaking the law with the quotes of how much you can expect to make.

In my experience in life Most independent business"s cant keep up with all the laws and therefore their business uplines dont bother to tell the associate signing up in case they say something wrong to that associate because then they become liable. So instead they may keep their mouth shut and let the associate burden all the laws and revisions that can happen anytime. That's the first thing I've noticed in terms of how they market and the income projections they make. Second thing to always pay attention to is their rating on the Better Business Bureau and any reputable organizations or publications. I couldn't find a listing from the BBB about them. I looked at them through - http://www.bbb.org/eastern-washington/business-reviews/internet-marketing-services/global-domains-international-in-nine-mile-falls-wa-64045143/  and found nothing. It appears this company isn't BBB accredited. Next is what perhaps the American Bar Association has to say. - Nothing there either.

I'm not saying this is a good or bad company but based off of my research, I'd say they're RISKY. If you're looking for a good job then Here's an example of good things through a good company and reputable resources listed below to go by:

What the American Bar Association has to say: http://www.abanet.org/legalservices/prepaid/home.html

The better business bureau's rating: http://www.bbb.org/oklahoma-city/business-reviews/legal-services-plans/pre-paid-legal-services-in-ada-ok-9000434

CREDIBILITY to go by with ANY business and here's an example of the business I'm in:
When Pre-Paid Legal has been featured in Barrons, Fortune, Forbes, Business Week, Newsweek, The Wallstreet Journal, USA Today, Individual Investor, Investors Daily, INC Magazine, Financial World, Black Enterprise, Entrepreneur, etc., it really shows the credibility our company enjoys!

Where are you going to find a company with more credentials? No company is perfect and even big retail stores have complaints but what matters most is what the smart people have to say about business ventures in life such as:  - the American Bar Association, attorney generals, better business bureau and etc.

Everybody needs people they can rely on. People they can trust. People who will be there in a pinch - with no excuses. People who are dependable, who will stand by you. People who keep their promises. For trustworthy, reliable legal help, try Pre-Paid Legal. Because at Pre-Paid Legal, its not your problem, its our problem. email Craig Shepherd, Independent Associate, at eyesinthesky31@yahoo.com for more information.

Are You Kidding me?

AUTHOR: Jim - (United States of America)

Ok...wow, is this complaint wrong or what?

First of all, the biggest problem with this complaint is that they say GDI is a pyramid scheme because they "don't have a product". Excuse me? First of all, it's more than domain names (which is a product, albeit electronic), but the biggest thing they have is website hosting so you can have you're own website for business or personal use. Geez! Is this person dense? I'm a member of GDI...the biggest draw I had to them is having that website AND being able to refer a few people to their services/product so that I can make enough money to cover the expense of the website (a whopping $10 per month!). Well I've gotten my website hosting from GDI....I put up a website for my part-time side business as a guitar teacher, and did the appropriate things to get my website listed in search engines and online yellow pages sites so local people can find me. 95% of my guitar teaching business comes from the website that GDI provides me which makes me about $30,000 per year (54 students per week) - all of which cost me nothing in advertising because my monthly check from GDI covers the mind-numbing expense of $10 per month (I'm being sarcastic). This is hardly a rip-off. Now I'm not making a huge check with GDI, but I can if I wanted to...I just referred enough people to cover my website expenses and focused on my main interest in my music business. I'm considering gettnig a bit more active promoting GDI just for kicks because it really is fun sharing something that has been of value to you.

The only draw back with GDI is that WS is not as memorable as a URL extension as .com. But the workaround is easy and painless enough...you buy a dot.com from GoDaddy.com and just forward it to your GDI website...big whopping deal...cost me around $9-$11 per year. I happen to be good at putting up a website, but if I didn't know how, I could have used their simple website builder that comes with their package. Anyone could make a website for their business or hobby...even kids can do that. My gosh...I can't believe how thick some people are.

If they're looking to get rich, then get to work with something. GDI can make you money if you promote for exactly what it is...a website hosting company that offers you a commission for referring other customers who use their services. It'll take WORK to make money. If you think otherwise, then just go buy lottery tickets and let me know how THAT is working for you. Geeez!!!

This complainer didn't even bother reading GDI's material or website to see that the product they offer is real, valuable, or useful...especially for people like me who need a website. You can pay for website hosting from other companies for up to $30 per month...mine with GDI is free for all practical purposes because they provide a simple turn-key way for me to share this with others. Ok that's enough of my soap box.

How were YOU ripped off exactly?

AUTHOR: no more lies - (United States of America)

This is sad how this site is full of ripoff reports from people who are completely speculating. How dare you file a report on a company because you found the video suspicious. How were you ripped off exactly? For your information, you do get your own domain that you can do anything non pornographic with. You get over 10 replicated sited. And you can sell domains soley if you use the right link for example:

I have customers that have no interest in the income opportunity(which make up my best customers). GDI focuses on the income opportunity because that is consistantly one of the top three DSA Niches (currently #1). GDI is a member of the DSA.

For 2010 GDI has made so may improvements, which I won't tell all of them because this is a very competitive industry. GDI is a great product that absolutely improves every year and has always done well in trade. For every wanna be detective like you out there, there's probably hundreds of us that can testify that this is a great company. Is it easy as the promo videos make it seem to make your business go into the black? No, but is a fast food resteraunt scamming you for making burgers look jucier in ads? Is a cosmetic companies scamming to hire the prettiest faces to wear their make up? Are athletic companies scamming to use the top athletes to promote their goods?

GDI is what it is... A company that give people the opportunity to earn commissions (more than any company I know of) to promote the products. Some people get lucky, and make money from little effort, some are just naturally attractive alphas, most will not make more that they spend (just like any other business... do a little research on business sucess/fail rates) But to succed with GDI, you need to work hard and get ahead of the learning curve and fight to stay there.

feel free to email me if you want more HONEST, INFORMED info or you can prove me wrong at (((Redacted)))

Global Domains is not a pyramid scheme

AUTHOR: Tryworksmart.ws - (United States of America)

Not sure why you think this is a pyramid scheme. The whole thing is they will only pay 5 levels deep, then you need to start again. This keeps all people working rather than all the money going to the top, like a pyramid.

The company has been around for 10 years, seems to be very reputable, customer service is very responsive.

Yes, I am a member, and have been offering domain, hosting, 10 email accounts, and sitebuilder for $10 per month, along with the business opportunity.

You can see my site at www.website.ws/tryworksmart

If you compare others, they do not offer all the above for that money, only some of it.

Global Domains inernational Inc.

AUTHOR: Gerard - (United States of America)

First, i would like to point out the fact that Global Domains International Inc. (GDI) offers a quality hosting package for any person or business. This package includes, a top level domain name, website and website builder, and ten custom e-mail accounts for ten dollars a month.  Most can see that this is a good product for a reasonable price.
Secondly, GDI offers an affiliate program that pays commissions five levels deep.  This is a marketing technique used by many organizations for many years.  This is called multi level marketing (MLM).  MLM is perfectly legal and was being used before the internet even existed.
I suggest you take a look at the actual product offered and you will see this in a new light.

Yes, there are misleading claims- easy signup but not easy to cancel!  If you can signup online you should be able to cancel online!  As to those who say top associates such as tissa will not leave you out in the cold  brrrrrr I am freezing here. Just because the people at the top are making money and I am sure they are, doesn't mean it isn't a scam.  Thanks to the free search engine scam people get suckered into reoccuring fees convincing you this will make you money.

Global Domains International (GDI) is not a scam!!!!!

AUTHOR: Avery Web - (Canada)

I have read a number of comment from people here stating GDI is just another pyramid scam which to say the least IS INCORRECT!!!!!!!

Let me let you in on a bit of info that most sponsors do not tell you.

1. Yes GDI is a pyrmid but is also a sales position and an affiliate program.

For those of you that do not know what an affiliate program is. It is a comissioned sales position where you will earn money for advertising for the company your are promoting. This happens numerous time on the internet today google adsense and a number of sites will pay you. Just take a look at Adjungle, Comission Junction and a bunch of other.

Even search google for affiliate programs and find out just how many are out there you may be suprised at what you find.

Some people have even stated there is no product with gdi that is also incorrect. You are selling domain names and web space and the email addresses. First maybe you should look at what it would cost you to register you own domain name and pay for webhosting you wilol find that GDI is right in the ball park.

Also look at the fact that most hosting companies want you to pay for a full year in advance to save a bit.

Also look into the growth of the internet and see just how many websites there are out there. See I am a web design by trade and also offer my own web hosting and domain registrations so I have a unique view in this industry.

The truth of the matter is this, anyone that uses photobucket to upload images so their friends and family can see them is perfect for this business. Anyone that uses hotmail yahoo or any of the other free email providers are perfect for this business. Also any small business that is not already currently on the net is perfect for this business. One person even stated that the website that you are supposed to be purchasing will need to be used to promote the gdi business. This is so wrong! GDI promotional websites are completely seperate from your own domain name and you can use that webspace anyway you see fit.

Sad thing is the fact that there have been so many companies out there that when one that is actually legit comes along the red lights go up. See I thought the same thing when I first came across the opportunity 6 months ago so I did my homework on the company so I ask all you out there that thinks GDI is a scam the following.

1. Did you look at their BBB listings?
2. Did you know that all pyramid scams are typically shut down is 12-18 months yet GDI has been in business in the same location since 1999?
3. What about those that are already making money from the business that isnt scared of the sales nature of the opportunity?

It would be very interesting to know what you people have actaully researched when posting your scam comments. Anyone that would like to actually sit down with me and truly go over the scam or no scam issue is encouraged to contact me via email I will be more then happy to give you the real low down of what is and isnt right about this business.

If you are afraid of any sales type of a position then this opportunity is not for you. However if not then you may just be able to make a comfortable living with the right approach. The internet is going to be with us for some time to come and yes there will be scams out there I do not deny that but there are also a bunch of them that are 100% legit if you are willing to take the time to look at it completly.

If anyone wishes to contact me my email is webmaster@averywebservices.ws
at which time I will either setup a time where you can meet me in my own private chat room.

Good luck to all and please have faith in the internet and do your full research before you think a company is a scam without having the full infomation.

If GDI was a sacm they would have been gone by 2001 we are into 2009 and almost 10 years into the companies exsistance. You cannot run a scam that long without getting nailed
