Then after 2 1/2 years of my sons policy, I purchased Life insurance plus Accidental for myself and husband. Moved all to 'monthly payments' on that sign up. Have had all policies for 4 1/2 years total.
Every single month, I would get 4 snail mailed bills for each account, plus 2 junk mail sends per name- (for 3 accounts, that's 12 bills each month, not counting the junk mail sends!) Even though, I was signed up to pay the bill online (paperless). And most times, after I've already made the payment!
Online: Once I would pay the bill, I would get 3 separate emails, at different times, saying that I have just made a payment to that 1 account. This would be like clockwork with all 3 accounts; basically 9 emails saying the same thing, just in a different way, that I have made a payment to that 1 account. Most times, it would include all accounts in the email, or just a couple accounts.. I would have to pick and choose which to keep!! It was freakin' confusing!!
Then, 2 to 3 days pass, I would get 2 to 3 more emails, per account, that I have made a payment for that account and it's been applied (and it would be the same as the first emails; I would have to pick and choose which to keep). So monthly, I have gone through at least 12 letters (including snail mail sends) just for 1 account. Add that times 3, that's 36 (sometimes more) a month of useless sends from them to remind me to pay, that I need to pay or have paid.... When I have already paid and I am signed up for Paperless!!
So, that's not too bad, right? Well, it is if they don't even bother processing the payment after it's been made, and supposedly 'processed', after all those sends to let you know it has.
Because of their screw up (more than once, mind you), I had missed 2 payments (strange how it was always "2 payments") that they blamed me for. They claim that I hadn't made a payment on any of my accounts, even though, I had receipts flowing out of my inbox to prove otherwise, they didn't want the proof, instead, they said for me to make my payment to 'catch it up' or it will be in lapse and all the money I put into my sons, would be gone. (he's was a different than ours) This was via phone to 'clear it up'
So, I made the payment for each of the 3 accounts. I go through all of the paper collecting again. Have proof again, that I made the payments.
2 months go by and again, supposedly, I missed the payments for the accounts again (strangely, for the "2 months", again). I know I did not - I just got off the phone with this people AND I had the proof. But "if you want to keep it, you must pay it" (their slogan). I had money built up on my son's account and I didn't want him to lose it- and until I could find a replacement for ours, I went ahead and paid for all 3. To me, at the time, with the busy life we have, it was just easier dealing with that, than looking for something better... at that time.
I decided, after that, I let it lapse, not pay another payment, on purpose - I knew they were ripping us off. I did not receive one bill to 'remind' me to pay, nothing - not one email -for the 2 months I did not pay.
By the beginning of the 3rd month, I decided to go pay online because I didn't want us to go without anything, any longer, and I hadn't found anything else yet .. so when I did, they wanted me to pay 3 months in advance instead of the usual 1 month, per account....so because I hadn't found a replacement for this insurance, I decided to go ahead and pay for the 3 months. After that, I got bill after bill after bill, I counted at least 46 bills telling me that I haven't paid and mail for new sign ups for other insurance, that I didn't need. In all that, I only got 1 receipt that I had paid. Just one. ..the rest was junk. I had to filter through all that.
So now, here we are, 4 1/2 years in, and they claim I need to make my payment, even though its not due yet. I still have a whole month until it's due. (they sent me 5 reminders just last month - 2 whole months before it's due). ..to remind me that it's due, when it's not... (Oh I'm late again? On a bill that isn't even due yet?! ...oh strange, with all the emails and mail I get, I must of overlooked it!!..let me pay that right now because I surely don't want to lose all the money I put into my sons policy!! ......NO MORE Will I do that!! NO - I don't like being raped over and over!!)
This isn't the first time they claim I owe money when I don't. They have been getting double payments (for 3 accounts) since day one. (One time, triple payment!!!!) But of course, with all the paperwork that comes in email and snail mail, it can be confusing!!! And they know this. In all honesty, they are hoping you throw it all out and not have proof of anything! If you do have proof, like I did/do, they deny to see it anyway!!
This time, I Am going to just let it lapse, stayed lapse and go some place else. I am sick of being ripped off (raped) and getting junk mail to remind me that I Am being ripped off. Especially reading how people are not getting claims after an incident happens :(
We Are going some place else! And hopefully, have a much better experience! Good Luck to All.
Businesses need to seriously stop this rip off bulls**t. Don't you know you get more money with honey?!
