I,too, am a former member of this organized farce operating until the title of "church". The crap being delivered from the pulpit is so deep that you need boots to wade through it and out the door. What amazes me is how you have embezzlement, pimpin', adultery, children born to married lovers, poor money management, lies, deceit, fraudulent credit card use, arrogance, rudeness, and downright ungodliness going on and the lambs are still being led to the slaughter. Wake up, people! Hannibal the Cannibal is afoot! You are to follow your leaders AS THEY FOLLOW CHRIST . . . . when you see the Holy Spirit lean over and tell Jesus it's time to go . . . WHAT are YOU waiting for?
What happened to the 1.1 MILLION DOLLARS that Alton Trimble SAID we had saved up?? We gave our tithes, Building Fund pledges, tax refunds and some even went into their retirement plans and gave. We served tirelessly from 6 a.m. until the wee hours of the night, every night. All because we believed the Black Jim Jones. Better watch your communion wine.
And WHY is it that the politicians who have no problem coming to the church once a year in an ELECTION year . . . . WHY is it THEY don't seem to know what's going on? Maxine Waters, Bernard Parks and nearly every prominent politician in Carson has, at one time or another, graced that disgraced platform called a pulpit at Glory Christian Fellowship, International . . . aka GCFI.
The body count is RISING. The accountants have jumped shipped as well as nearly everyone who used to work in the main office. Can you say "Glory-Gate"? And we thought Watergate was bad! All the big-time givers (doctors AND lawyers) have closed their designer checkbooks. And yet ~ no governmental agency is looking into the financial records of this religious entity. WHERE oh where is the IRS when you actually WANT to see them?
They say that Rome wasn't built in a day . . . . but it DID get built. The only thing we've ever seen on the lot adjacent to the Super K-Mart is WEEDS . . . and lots of them! Where's the youth center? Where are the jobs for those that need them? Where are the training opportunities? Where's the church? Where's the MONEY???? And yet, the pastor owns TWO very nice homes in exclusive areas, owns nice cars, can afford private schools for the children and so many other luxuries. Yet, staffers have taken pay cuts. Hmmmmm . . . . if it smells like crap . . . . it must BE crap.
This ministry has tarnished the Christian faith. How many souls have been disillusioned, led astray, deceived? How many people have given above and beyond what they could really afford to support this ministry . . . . only to have nothing but hurt and disappointment?
Alton Trimble once had a powerful message that offered hope and encouragement. His proud, arrogant, deceitful spirit has become his downfall. "Repent" and "Accountability" are not in his vocabulary. After 7 or 8 years of the Building Fund, the only thing that's been broken is promises because it certainly isn't the ground.

That has not been my experience

I have been involved in a few churches in my day. A portion of the involvement in ministry and a portion as just an employee. What I have determined is that people that attend a church rarely understand the business side of a church and when a plan or strategy does not happen the way it should then they believe that they have been cheated. I have been a part of two churches that raised money to expand and purchased something that was later determined what not suitable for building. One purchased a building that was filled with asbestos and one purchased land that was deemed not suitable for building due to environmental reasons. Glory being one of them. After several years in a legal struggle with the sellers that hid the information from the church regarding the condition of the land, the money spend was returned. No theft, no deceit, just some misfortune. It has taken much longer than expected and some have become discouraged but those that feel cheated or abused should take the time to follow up and check the status before publicly crying foul. As for the Pastor having multiple homes and cars, hmmmm so do most people who are college educated and held a job making good money. He wasn't born preaching and held a full time job for a long time so what wouldn't you expect a person with several degrees to have something.
I have to admit that there were some personal indiscretions that I can't and won't defend. All I can say is that I see the result of that experience and can see how the pain and embarrassment has caused a humility that I have not seen in much. That situation might have been the catalyst that caused a change from the church that you knew to the church that I know now. Since I came after all of the drama I had not be biased by it. In fact it has helped me because he is a man with flaws trying to live right he can identify with me who is also a man with flaws trying to live right.
I appreciate and understand why you feel how you feel but take another look to see if God used that time to bring the church to the place it needed to be. A place of humility and service. That is the GCFI I know.

I remember a quote from the New Testament from the Man Himself that you shoudl be careful to discern false prophets,
This sounds like the typical Prosperity Gospel scam where the music and the preachers whip the sheeple in the congregation up to a fevered pitch and urge them to GIVE UP YOUR MONEY, O GIVE,GIVE, GIVE,GIVE UP THAT MONEY TO JESUS! CAST YOUR BREAD ON THE WATERS AND IT WILL COME BACK TO YOU MANY FOLD!"
But this is a LIE because the ONLY one who will benefit from the money is the crowd controller, lying, thieving con artist who is asking you to GIVE all your money!
IF YOU BELIEVED IT, SHAME ON HIM.
IF YOU FELL FOR THE PROSPERITY GOSPEL B.S. SHAME ON YOU!
If it takes money out of your wallet, that money is GONE!
There are only FOUR GOSPELS MATTHEW, MARK,LUKE and JOHN.
Do you see PROSPERITY in there?

Most megachurches want to increase their power and their gate revenue. \like charging so much a head in guaranteed tithes and whatever else they can con out of you. THIS IS A RIP OFF IN THE NAME OF RELIGION!
You did NOT join a congregation that wants to be doers of the word and not listeners only, you joined a PROSPERITY GOSPEL PREACHING CHURCH where the only one who prospers is the guy who is hounding you to give,give, give and promising impossible MIRACLES THAT WILL NEVER COME TO PASS --pretty, fantastic stories in exchange for your money. You can go buy a fairy tale book cheaper than this.
It always hurts to realize that the clergyman you trusted and believed in turned out to be a money-worshipping, penny-grubbing snake. But you were just in the social club anyway. Read all of ACTS and tell me how much of that they practiced in there.
Not just the incomprehensible babbling and falling down and raising up their arms with their eyes closed so they wouldn't feel their pockets being picked or see the preacher laughing at them as he counted the money in his heart and in his head.
IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY!
And THAT is the true meaning of the Prosperity Gospel.
