A young lady came to my door selling magazines. There was nothing I was interested in, and I informed her that our finances have been sketchy lately because my Mom was out of state and sick and we need to fly out to see her. She basically begged me to order something. I spent approximately 40 minutes trying to find something fairly inexpensive to buy, even calling my husband to see if there was anything he could think of to buy as a gift for someone. In the meantime my two young children were starved for attention, crying, yelling, etc. and the young lady continued to guilt me into buying something. Granted, I'm an adult and could have said no, but I also enjoy helping people in need and she presented herself as someone who would benefit from the kindness of a stranger. I ordered a $25 magazine. Then she informed me it would be an additional $10 for processing and handling. She took my check, wrote "May God Bless You!" on the receipt and left with the check. I never received the subscription after the 120 days they tell you to wait. Their website does not work, and I could use the money as my mom ended up passing away and we needed to take three unplanned trips out of state to care for her and settle her estate. I'm deeply disappointed in a company that plays on people's emotions. I don't like anyone to feel shame, but . . . "shame on them!"
