I called the operator Lauren that the technician will call the manufacturer and give the error codes and the reading off the instrument. The plumber James goes there and does his own diagnostics and gives me nothing and also didn't call the manufacturer to get the parts. I was charged $52 for this and did previous other plumbers. That's why I had this specific task to be conducted.

He did not do the job.

On top of it Kevin Ball says he will charge me

$52 to come there
$292 to diagnose the water heater
$149 to do the warranty paperwork
$$$ to service the water heater.

He did not mention that it costs $202 to buy a new 40lb water heater to buy.

Is this guy a rip-off artist along with the owners?

Never ever get this company to service my home or business ever again.

This is not how Gold Medal Service conducts business

The events described by this writer are not in sync with how Gold Medal Service conducts business.  In addition, the writer identified an employee by name has having provided certain estimates for a water heater.  The employee in question does not perform these functions and does not make service visits of any type to customer's homes.   We are also wary of this review as the writer is identified as having posted the review in Arizona in June 2011.  We only conduct business in New Jersey.  Therefore, in the first instance, we question the validity of this review

As a general policy, Gold Medal Service does not provide estimates over the phone due to the number of variables that can be involved in any particular project.  We will make a service visit to a customer's home to inspect and evaluate any issue or issues the customer may have.  

We state in advance that there is a $49 service fee (+tax) that will be waived if any work if performed.  The customer is always free to refuse to perform any work.  Our technicians will prepare and provide to the customer detailed written estimates for all work suggested to be performed.  The estimates will usually include several price point options.  The prices in the estimates are based upon a comprehensive and thoroughly researched price book that takes into account many factors.

At Gold Medal Service we stand behind our commitment to Delivering Wow Through Service.  We are fully accessible through many different methods - email, website, phone , facsimile, etc.  If truly interested in reporting a legitimate concern, the reviewer in this instance would have been able to communicate to the owners and managers of Gold Medal Service to receive satisfaction.  I encourage the writer to contact Gold Medal Service today to discuss any real issue further.  Thank you.
