i have never seen a company like goodwill before in my entire life! they are supposed to be a company to help out people in need!!! i havent seen them help anyone! the upper management just sits up there high and mighty and makes up rediculous and unrealistic rules for their employees to follow, but yet the store in tyler itself doesnt have to follow the rules they get to do what they want.
all the other surrounding east texas stores have to follow it to a t and they are threathened all the time with well you will be fired if you do this, or that. they get threatened all the time and cant say anything to anyone cause its the upper management that is doing the threatening(even to regular store managers)even the store managers are not allowed to make any management decisions, the regional manager makes them all for them.
the canton store just got a new building, bought and paid for almost half a million dollars. so that must mean that they dont have rent, so all they have is utilities and staff wages, which isnt going to come no where near what the regional manager makes their goal be. almost 45 thousand for 1 month.
the Goodwill says they are non profit, but yet, the ceo was promised a 5% increase in sales at the canton store by the regional manager if they would buy that new building. that 5% isnt being got by more goods going through, she is getting the 5% by jacking up the prices in the store!
items sit up in that store for weeks cause the prices are too high. you can go buy new items for what you pay there. people in the comminuty complain to employees there if they see them out in public about the prices, and if you say anything to the manager about what the public says, all you get is well we figured we lose some regulars but gain some new ones. who wants to run away their regulars? no business i know of.
the community is not getting the benefit of the Goodwill, the Goodwill is the only people benefiting from them. they will not do anything unless they get money from it. Upper management must be rollin in all that money.
all the recycling they say they do, they get paid for it too by the pound. and they are proud of the fact that they recycle hundreds of thousands of pounds. so again, where is that money going to? not the employees of the stores anyways.
again, with the canton store, the regional manager is having people arrested for getting in the dumpster and taking stuff that is left outside overnight(and the stuff that the store employees and management, under regional managers direction getting stuff together to set out there as bait to get them to take it)(a 70 yr old man to be exact) if someone is having to dig through the dumpster, its because they have to dig in a dumpster. i promise, they would prob rather not have to do so. but instead, she is so afraid of losing money, they put a price of 1500 dollars worth of trash that has been took out of the dump(which means it wasnt getting sold anyways) just to say she had so much moneys worth stole.
for a business to be a non profit charity organization they sure do seem to only llloooovvveee money, nothing else! upper management driving sports cars and cadillacs. employees driving whatever they can to get to work so they arent fired!
management is the only people who can get insurance, but yet they can afford to go to the doctor. regular store employees who make min. wage cant afford to go to the doctor( if you do there goes 3/4 of your check) is required to have doctors excuses. thats just a lil bit backwards and unfair.
IF IT WASNT FOR THE COMMUNITY DONATING AND EMPLOYEES WHO WORK THE STORES YOU UPPER MANAGEMENT WOULDNT BE WHERE YOU ARE! the employees are told this is a fast pace job for little money and your good work doesnt get commended, but if you do something wrong, you will get repremanded for your bad performance.
