How did our trip to Southern California turn out to be a bad dream?  We were coming home after a stop at my sister-in-laws place in Apple Valley when my 2001 Fleetwood RV showed the engine was over heating. We quickly determined we had lost the fan belt. This was Sunday and a Goodyear  CertifiedTire & ServiceCenter on

Tao Road
in Apple Valley was open. They guaranteed they would have the correct belt or could get it within the hour. A quick inspection revealed the AC compressor shaft was froze. They would remove it so they could find the part number and locate a replacement. I assumed the pulley would not turn because the clutch bearing had galled and the shaft was froze. No attempt was made to remove the clutch nor to locate just the clutch. Later when I asked why, I was told that would be a "rebuild" and they don't do that. Late Sunday I was told they could not locate the part and would need to wait until Monday. I was also told it would cost about $392 plus the cost of the part. Monday after I was told the closest part was located in Indiana and would cost over $900. It could be delivered on Wednesday. I did not want to have my motor home towed down the Cajon pass and felt I was between a rock and a hard place. Later that day I went on-line and had a Mike Thomson RV place in Colton CA. look for the part. They found 4 in Riverside.  When I asked Eric Jackson the manager at Goodyear to see my unit, I was told it was at his warehouse in Rancho Cucamonga to find a match. I guess the people in Apple Valley can't read. I was also told I could not talk to the people in Cucamonga. On Wednesday we were told UPS had routed it through Arizona and would be delivered by Thursday. When I asked for the tracking number I was told the people at his warehouse had it and he refused to ask for it. Eric did not tell me the delivery would be to Rancho Cucamonga and he would need to send someone to pick it up. Some time after on Thursday we were told his driver had a heart attack and the delivery would again be late.  We finely left for home at after paying $1633.83 for a service that took 5 days. I would never use Goodyear Service for anything again.  If Eric did not lie to us, he surly did not tell the whole story which was as bad as a lie.  Maybe none of this was his fault but it was his responsibility. I was over 900 miles from home and he took 5 days to do a job that should have taken less than 2.

I too have had dealings with this company but its located in Victorville, Ca, and even spoke to this same person as mentioned above in the response and had no results....just excuses after excuses and unprofessional treatment by the staff and the above mentioned rep ...I am all for resolving the matter and even called to the Daimler Chrysler Corporation to inquire on what I was told by this very person above said " in my 31 years of service I have seen things like this and its not our fault it was a manufactures defect because the oil pan is aluminum and the drain plug is steal", and what I was told by the Chrysler corporation that they never heard of that, and its discerning to them someone would spread false statements about them... now however they have offered to fix it if I buy the replacement oil pan they will put it on, I would not have to buy a replacement if they didn't mess it up to begin with !! and really I would not be back there anytime soon !! they are unprofessional and protect there own, its unfortunate that people like this are doing business, and further more they should apologize for their lack of respect for their customers...they talk down to women,  hopefully in the future they can learn the words respect and treat people with such...its a place of business not a place to treat people how you wish, your superiors should be involved but due to the fact everything's on the hush hush with you and you refuse to have anyone else get involved they may never know !! but hopefully this helps another person out there not get taken advantage of ...thank you...

In introduction, my name is Dan Schoof. I am the Customer Service Manager for Certified Tire. First, We would like to apologize for our customers poor experience. We did not intend for them to feel this way. We tried to get the customer out quickly the first day Sunday May 2nd. It was late in the day approximately 12:47 pm, we close at 4:00 pm. Unfortunately what was thought to be only a broken fan belt turned out to be a locked uo a/c compressor. It was too late in the day to get price or availibilty, so the customer was told we would be abvle to get the information the nexdt day Monday 5/3. We got the info and found that it would not be able to receive the part until Wednesday 5/5. the customer was given a price and date of completion and authorized the repair. Situations beyond our control caused the part not to be delivered until Thursday May 6th. The part arrived and it was installed. It was found at this point that there was an electrical problem with the power source to the a/c compressor. The customer was informed that the belt would now turn and there would be no overheating. They inform our staff that they had recently purchased the motorhome and would take it back to the plaace purchased to see if the electrical problem would be covered. Our locaation manager adjusted the price of the a/c compressor, reducing the price by $223.00 for the extra day of waiting. We do apologize for the extended days wait, but it was beyond our control. We feel that we fairly compensated the customer by reducing the price of the compressor.
