I have never before in my life been so motivated to complain about a company ! WOW.. I really believed in Don Goodman and his whole "We are the only resume writing company who will actually deliver" ploy-- When you first contact GotThejob.Com -- they are so nice --but are clearly just trying to make a sale. Their website [which, in retrospect, is rather sloppily formatted--THAT* should've been a major indicator !]--- goes to great lengths to de-market their competition--- and is quite compelling.. They use negative info about their competition to justify super-high prices for their service--and well, it SOUNDS sensible-- Pay more, get better results..
HA ! The resume I received from them was AWFUL-- Not just mediocre-- but AWFUL-- I counted 6 misspelled words, 11 typos--and the format was BASIC-- Worse yet, the wording itself was often borderline incoherent and did NOTHING to accent my skills and experience. I showed it to several professionals --and their advice was basically "WOW, get your money back.."
My attempts to contact GetTheJob.Com -- who had been previously sooooo helpful when they wanted to make a sale--- resulted in a mix of long stretches of messages unanswered-- to half-hearted offers to re-write the resume-- one of which I pursued--which resulted in virtually NO CHANGE at all.. I was dumbfounded and thought that perhaps--they just sent me the original file again by mistake-- until I realized FOUR WORDS HAD BEEN EDITED [and one was an ADDED word-- spelled INCORRECTLY]-- It was as if -- someone spent 1 minute doing anything to call it "REVISED"--and that person was rushed and overloaded w/ work...
Honestly, I believe the owner farmed my assignment out to someone who speaks English as a second language. I have never felt so scammed in my entire life. Be smarter than I was. Their website is not that good looking-- Do you really think the resume they create will be ?

First of all, I am not sure this is a real customer who wrote this and wonder if a competitor posted it.
It is hard to believe that we would send a bad resume out with typos and poor formatting. All of our work is done by writers who have years of experience with me and are located in the US or Canada.
Nonetheless, I personally stand behind all of our work and have no record of being contacted with this type of issue. If the person who wrote this is really a customer (I do not think they are) then I would hope they would contact me to produce a resume that more than meets their needs
We have been doing this for over 10 years, written over 20,000 resumes and boast over a 95% effectiveness rate in getting people interviews. We also have an A+ rating with the BBB.
