As we arrived, there was much excitement, staff was very friendly. I had a closed mind initially thinking it was a "Time Share" pitch. The first pitch the sales rep gave, was, "This is not a time share" which falsely relaxed us immediately while we were wooed by his smooth presentation. As the wooing continued, in a very professional and smooth fashion, the sales rep then offered an inflated price of over $9,000.00, even mentioning that we had better sit back..take a deep breath as this was the part the we would not "swallow" easily. My wife and I both gasped, and the sales rep said, "But tonight only we have a special deal of $6,000.00." We again gasped and his manager walked over..and said, "If you do this tonight, we will do it for around $3,000.00." The manager said they were offering the "special' so that his sales rep could reach quota and make a bonus.. We thought..they seem honest....long story short...we did it.
As we left....we had to ask for the free plane tickets and hotel offer, which was initially used to "bait" us to the presentation(the "free gift"). A lady at the front desk briefly went over the instructions as how to redeem our free plane tickets and hotel....Well, she did not explain much at all, as the fine print had many extra charges. We still decided to redeem our free gift even with the charges..and a couple of weeks later we received a letter indicating we were turned down for the gift, for not following the "mailing' instructions to the exact point!!!!
And as we have tried to book travel through our purchase from Grand Discovery..it has been far from easy..and we have yet to get, or confirm a single vacation....Be careful.....be aware!! These guys look professional, are smooth..and probably get by the law by the skin of their teeth....very unethical..and for me to fall for it....wow!!!!!
