i dont really have a report other than the fact i did feel pushed to enroll at grand canyon university. I have been very sceptical since the begining because when i told my concerns to my counciler and that i was thinking of holding off untill later. I felt she got kinda rude with me. Complaining about how people are always backing out at the last minute. Its really hard to trust a place thats 5 or more states away. Its not like you can show up at thier door step when theres a problem.

Also, I was really leery because im in finacial need as it is and id much rather not take loans out im afraid i wouldnt be able to pay back. I didnt even get my award letter untill last friday and found out my finacial aid was only 8,000 and i would have to take out a loan of 10,000 to pay for school. So, sunday i wrote a letter to everyone of my grad team letting them know i have decided to not attend school there. I have not accepted any of my loans or finacial aid. I have not did any course work i was supposed to start today. I have not made any contact with fellow students. My concern is even though they told me as long as i dont make any contact with fellow students or courses am i in the clear or will i get scamed to like everyone else?

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Here's why. It's ALL ABOUST SALES with GCU!

AUTHOR: mike.sheppard91 - (USA)

You counselor is putting the pressure on you because she is bound by numbers with her job. Although completely outlawed by the Department Of Education (DOE), this organization still operates under the same shady principles as some of the used care dealerships their main campus is adjacent to. The counselors are bound to put in between 6-8 (for newer counselors) students a month and are judged upon what is known in the industry as Second course completion where they need you to complete at least the first two weeks of your second course before they completely ignore you. They care riiiiight up until you get that second course completion and then they could care less because the government sends them an incentive check for keeping you going through that second course. Once they get their money, consider yourself forgotten about!

Sales and numbers is something that in business, you can never distance yourself from completely. This organization has tried to be transparent enough to demonstrate and perpetrate as if they are not putting the pressure on you to buy.but just like the pressure you experienced.all of the counselors there know they are on a stock tht is sinking because it is nearly worthless within the for-profit industry.and that is transferred most likely into stress in their voices over the phone as they press to sell-sell-sell!!! or lose their jobs. Good luck.

to officially withdraw, if you are enrolled in classes right now.  And do it soon.

Regardless, the staff at this school is going to be having a real good time with your money.
