Granite Transformation talks a good game about their product, but in the end their product and their installation methods are inferior and their "lifetime" guarantee is a simply a sales gimmick. I regret having Granite Transformations install their product in my kitchen. First, the granite chips very easily with the slightest bump such as when removing dishes and cups from the dishwasher. If you accidentally hit the counter while removing an item it causes a small chip in the bottom of the counter. Likewise, if you bump the counter with something it can easily cause a chip at the edge. In addition to the problem with chipping, when the counter is installed the counter and back splash are two separate pieces. Anytime there is water on the counter it seeps under that back splash and for the next two days the junction between the counter and back splash will ooze out water and will be wet for days despite wiping it up 20 times with paper towels. I would never, ever, recommend Granite Transformations to any one of my friends or family.

My name is Bob Buchan owner of the Granite Transformations location in NJ - www.granitetransformations.com/southjersey. I talked with the Milwaukee owners and they said they had no open service requests for this issue. The best way to resolve any outstanding problems is to contact your Granite Transformations location directly and they will be more than happy to honor the lifetime warranty on our products. As business owners servicing our customers, we have a tremendous desire to make sure all of our customers are completely satisfied with the work we perform. Have you tried contacting them? It is possible for our material to chip, however, it is no more susceptible to this than any other coutertop material out there. If you chip ours, you would have chipped others as well. Our material is easily repaired, which we are glad to do as part of our warranty. The only material that would have an integrated backsplash is Corian, which being plastic based, would have it's own issues; every other counter material uses a separate piece for a backsplash. It sounds like you may just to have your backsplash recaulked which would easily solve the problem. We want all our customers to refer us to all their friends and family - please let us make this right for you.
