I ordered a free CD for grantsearching, the company only asked that I pay $3.99 for shipping and handling and charged to me visa debit card (they were willing to accept any major credit card).
The CD arrived and was not at all useful. I immediately called the customer service number and advised that I did not want any further service with them (just in case although no additional service fees were mentioned at the time I signed up for the CD). They told me there were no additional services or fees and that they were sorry the information was not helpful.
I am now looking at my account statement, I admit I don't balance my checkbook regularly just when I make major purchases, and I find that I have been charged for the past three months for three separate services at amounts of $7.97, $9.95, and $39.95. Each month the payments are withdrawn around the tenth and each month they are listed as a new company with a new 800 number.
I called all of the customer service numbers listed and each time received the same response. Customer service person answers and requests my full name and zip code. I am then informed that the system is updating and they are unable to pull up my account but if I call back in 24 hours they will be happy to help with any and all account concerns.
I found a phone number and email account for a company member, Ryan R., who has responded to many other complaints that are similar to mine. I receive no answer when I call his number. It is a cell phone and sends me to voicemail. I left a very detailed message regarding my charges and provided my full name and phone number and am awaiting a return call.
I also emailed Ryan to give the same information on my erroneous charges and my expectation that I will receive resolution within 2 business days. I am still waiting for a response at this time.
In addition, I will dispute the charges with me credit union tomorrow and hope for the best. Most likely I will need to cancel that card number and attain a new one in order to stop these charges but I will update as I get further information.
I am extremely frustrated with this company and their lack of regard for "customers" as well as the charges without prior information or consent.
