To all, I experienced awful customer service from a company called Grant & Weber. This is a collections agency and boy talk about rude, these people don't have any personality at all.

They have inter personal skills to act sharks over the phone and they love to call back and start a harassment campaign. If you have an issue with them, tell them you are monitoring their calls and if you have a debt, go to merchant where the debt came from even if you have an issue with that company, report to them how bad Grant & Weber was with you, tell them you don't trust them. If you owe something, make a small payment and dispute the debt but not with them, with the merchant but please dispute your debt with the merchant. All Grant & Weber wants is their commission, they will do anything for money in their pockets.

They use your credit report as a weapon and they will mention your credit report in the conversion. Beware of them threatening you about your credit report and what they will do with it. Report them to the Federal Trade Commission and also on the do not call list with the Federal Communication Commission.

If Grant & Weber has your account, make payments to the merchant instead, however if there is a settlement offer, get it in writing and if you pay, pay with a money order and sent it certified mail only. Giving your Visa number or check number over the phone, they can take more than disputed out of it. Don't trust Grant & Weber as these people are very hard to deal with. They want your banking routing number, this is a trap, beware of this method. Also your home address, they will use tactics to get their money, so always use a PO Box and money order, with all collection agencies and always certify your mail when sending your money. You need to document everything; these people will call people searching for money or your location information. If you write to them, do expect any written correspondence, they do not write back. They do not tell you their polices either, they will tell you, you have no business knowing about their policy's is what your hear from them. The more you ask the ruder they get with you.

I found this collection agency on the bad customer service list and reports about them online. If you have an issue with this company please notify the Better Business Bureau and file a complaint. They use bad business practices and no one should have to deal with agencies like this.

Just Be Nice. Advice from the over medicated.

AUTHOR: Scotty - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, May 15, 2013

When someone calls you again and again about a bill that is not owed it is hard to be remain NICE. It is their mistake and majority of people with MEDICAL BILLS are (Big surprise coming......) SICK.  These jerks need to get on the phone with whoever gave them the erroneous bill and straighten it out themselves. You cannot get medical care in our beloved AMERICA INC. without filling out reems of information and then they check your insurance eligibility before they lift a finger ( And while you wait there in pain and suffering.) So who's fault is that??? ALTA BATES SUMMIT MEDICAL FACILTIES are famous for sending their mistakes to collections and I get complaints from constituants all the time about this issue, Whatever you do. DO NOT BE NICE. BE ASSERTIVE AND STAND UP FOR YOUR RIGHTS AND ENLIST THE HELP OF FOLKS LIKE MYSELF THAT WILL HELP YOU DO JUST THAT>

No Problems

Sure they could be a nuisance but I agree with one of the other comments before that if I was responsible in paying my bill then I would not have a collections agency company call me.  It was my Fault!

I have had no problems with Grant & Weber for the last 4 months.  They have been very nice and I even set up a payment plan.  Sometimes I don't think they talk to each other because only 2 times they called the following week when we set up a date to already call me back.  It was no big deal and they were nice about it.  Another time they called me 2 weeks after making a payment for last month and I told them I thought I paid this month. They looked it up and apologized for calling back so soon.  I did ask for call back reminders to remind me about my payments because I have so many bills to catch up on.

My account for collections is on my Credit Report so I know they are for Real.  I just want to say I have had no Problems and I believe because I'm a very patient and nice person and I believe that makes all the difference in the world.

If you are nice then you will get treated with respect.  If they seem rude, then maybe they just got off a bad phone call with someone else that was rude to them.  Does that happen with you and you have a bad day?  They are human too.

I just be nice and that does the trick and they finally are nice back.  I tell them I know you are just doing your job if the call me too much and remind them that we just talked last week or we have a day to call me back.

THE KEY IS JUST BE NICE!

They have a lot of rude people they have to deal with that don't want to pay their bill and I know they are just doing their job since I didn't do mine in the 1st place and Pay my Bill to the merchant I had to pay.

Thanks

Harassing Collectors

If they are harassing you should get an attorney that specializes in Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). One that I know is: Koenig & Associates. www.robertkoeniglaw.com

It's obvious you work with them. No one sleeps better at night. You have no soul because you get off on demoralizing others with faux comments like this:

"Your wasting your time, they didn't break any laws, actually you came closer to breaking the law then they did."

Is this what they tell you so you can justify working for them. I think it makes you sleep better at night then paying $4,000.

You said it yourself, we came CLOSE to breaking the law, but it's a known fact that Grant and Weber has broken it a 1000 fold. They won't even validate a debt which is against FDCPA.

I am sorry, I think you are a shmuck. It makes me feel bad to say bad things about someone, but becuase I don't like you and I get to tell you on the ripoff report "do I sleep better at night? Hell Yes."

I've had an account sent to Collections with GW before and
1.They were Professional about it.

2.It was my fault I was in debt not GW.

3.I wouldn't go as far as filing a rip-off report on someone who was just doing their job.

4.Nothing is "trap" they are just stating true facts about your debt being credit reported.

I mean really? I used to work for a collection agency when I was young and let me tell you this... Its not a customer service job, collectors aren't your friends, they will tell you things as they are take it or leave it.

In my opinion you stopped paying for debt that you could have taken responsibility for a long time ago, so filing a rip off report on this website isn't going to change the fact that you are simply irresponsible. Your wasting your time, they didn't break any laws, actually you came closer to breaking the law then they did.

Were all going through a tough economical time but thats not an excuse you can use all time. A collection bill is just the same as your utility, cell phone(which im sure you have) mortgage, food, or water bill. Its no ones fault but yours.

I paid my $4,000 debt with GW, did I enjoy it? No! do I sleep better at night? Hell Yes.

These people will do ANYTHING to get paid

AUTHOR: Mary - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, July 17, 2010

I understand that being a "collection agency" is going to put these people in a bad light. I get it. It's the methods these people use. They lie, bend the law JUST to the breaking point and then swear they are just trying to help you. What I DON'T get is WHY businesses who need their debts collected on (in this economy where EVERYONE is struggling) would use someone with an "F" rating given by the BBB. (Check the Better Business Bureau. Their current rating is "F")

Bottom line, watch out for these people..they will resort to ANYTHING to get the debt paid. My husband is out of work. We received a legal attachment notice from the local Constable's Office by REGULAR MAIL on Thursday about a medical bill that had, I admit, been long past due. (I had paid $1000.00 of it a couple of years ago and been unable to pay the balance) On Friday evening our bank account was attached for the entire amount in it...EVERYTHING... Our checks are left to bounce, and it matters not to them.  The worst part was that my husband who was in Florida visiting his 88 year old mom in the hospital (the truth) called them on Thursday evening asking what kind of settlement they would take and he would try to come up with something. The person responsible for the matter "Steve Case" said he wasn't sure how far it had gone in the process but to call him Friday morning between 8-12. When my husband did so Steve was all of the sudden "unavailable" all day and believe me my husband called 5 or 6 times.  Then Friday evening the attachment went through. I know and YOU know that this company knew what was happening because the legal notice I received in the mail was dated JUNE 17th, over a MONTH ago.

Like I said.. These people will do anything to get paid.

#8 Consumer Suggestion

Mark, you have some bad information here regarding collections.

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, December 03, 2006
Mark,

First of all, collections agencies are NOT customer service. They have no desire to handle your dispute. they just want to collect.

Second, if you dispute a debt, DO NOT make a payment! Any payment you make LEGALLY validates the debt, and resets the SOL for legal collections activities such as lawsuits.

Third, once an account is placed with a collection agency, the original creditor cannot speak to you about the account or accept a payment [legally].

NEVER speak to any debt collector on the phone.
Demand everything in writing.

Never pay a third party debt collector. Always make them sue you, most won't.
