On October 3rd, 2013, my company, MediaMine, was introduced to Eric Inlaw, President of Grayne Investments, Inc., headquartered at 600 Charlevoix Avenue, Petoskey, MI, 49770, phone number (213) 238-1000.
On October 10th, 2013, two of MediaMine’s principals, Shawn Murphy and Cris D’Annnzio entered into an agreement with Eric Inlaw and Grayne Investments, Inc. to provide and complete the following services:
- Aged “READY” corporation
- Employer Tax ID (EIN) number
- Dunn and Bradstreet profile and obtaining DUNNS number
- Corporate Trade References added
- Certificate of good standing from Secretary of State
- Financial Projections
- Certified copies of the original articles of incorporation filed years ago
- Corporate funding sources and direct lending contacts
- Corporate and personal lines of credit and unsecured business loans up to $200K
- Foreign registration in local state/county and required filing fee (if needed)
According to Grayne’s contract and numerous emails, this process was to take six weeks and funding was to be completed before Thanksgiving 2013.
For these services, MediaMine paid Grayne Investments, Inc. a retainer of $5000 per account being set up (since there were to be two accounts, $10,000).
To date (March 3rd, 2014), exactly NONE of the above services have been completed. Eric Inlaw has stated that the Tax ID’s have been established but he is unable or unwilling to provide those numbers to us. He has given us NO timeline to complete the contracted work and ZERO transparency into his process, who is he dealing with, and why the funding has taken so long.
While we cannot know for sure (because of Eric Inlaw’s shifty business practices), it seems apparent that Mr. Inlaw is merely a broker or middleman and has relationships that he can neither control, predict or deliver the agreed outcome. OR, Mr. Inlaw is an out-and-out crook and liar and has absconded with our $10,000.
Eric Inlaw guaranteed us, in writing, that if he was unable to secure funding for MediaMine, he would refund our retainer. He is now unwilling to do even that after hanging us out for over six months.
MediaMine is proceeding with legal action against Eric Inlaw and Grayne Investments. Buyers beware. Eric Inlaw is a liar and cheat. He talks a good game but does not deliver on any of his contracted promises. I doubt sincerely that when we get our judgment (of which our attorney seems confident, since we have a contract), that Eric Inlaw or Grayne Investments will have the cash to repay us. We may have to force a bankruptcy and try to collect from the trustee.
