I had my car advertised in Auto Trader, and got the call from Jacob Stone of Great Cars and Trucks promising that the sale of my car for more than my asking price was guaranteed within a week.
I was curious about the fact that he wanted $199 when a previous (different) caller from Great Cars and Trucks had called and offered the same service for $99, but Jacob told me that there were (other) rip-off artists around trying to imitate them. Huh? I told him I would consider it, and got 3 more calls from him over the next few weeks.

Having read websites like this one, along with a few uneasy feelings I got from talking to Jacob, I decided to give them a miss. They were not worried about the 260-plus complaints that the BBB has on them, citing thousands of satisfied customers by comparison.

When I finally told him I didn't trust his company and that I felt that more than one or two unresolved complaints to the BBB was too much for me, he cursed at me, told me he didn't need my business anyway and slammed the phone down. This speaks volumes about the company that allows such treatment of its clientele.

By the way, it was he who called me, not the other way round, so why would he call and pester someone whose business he doesn't need? I feel sorry for all those swindled people who unwittingly placed their trust in Great Cars and Trucks!

Jacob Stone is not his real name, it is actually Darcy Herbert, good for you for not trusting him.
