About 6 Months ago my brother in law applied for a mortgage at Great Northern Mortgage in Forest Hills, New York. They asked them for bank statements pay stubs and Id. When they saw what was being submitted to the Bank there was a fake Green Card in the file. My brother in law doesn't have a Green Card but that didn't stop them. There was a copy of the green card in the file.
Well needless to say my brother pulled the application and went to Top Dot mortgage (also in Forest Hills) a much more reputible company who got them a mortgage on their own merit. He tried to get the file but the young lady whose name was Ana but I do not have her last name wouldn't give the file to them. Imagine if he had gone through them and hadn't have been so attentive. He would have had a fraudulent mortgage filed under his name and then what?
Well my brother in law could not get the file and did not submit the loan through them. So there is no crime or proof of this. But if your dealing with Great Northern Mortgage in Forest hills be very very careful and ask them to see what they are submitting to the bank under your name. If someone can forged a Green Card who knows what else they can do, and you may be the one that suffers the Consequence's for their greed.
